Of course we do. The PL brings in more revenue and better players. Ok, it didn’t work out this season but it might well next time.

You just don’t like losing and it’s tiresome on here about how crap the league is because we are not good enough.

If you want a McCarthy style era and apathy then have fun with that. If there’s nothing to aim for in terms of promotion what’s the point? The PL and pyramid in general has all kinds of problems but just because it’s been a tough slog, this stuff is getting a bit ridiculous.

Are you cheering for us to finish 7th or lose in the playoffs next year?

Do you want Ipswich to stay on the map, have top players/facilities, a new Cobbold stand and be in with the chance to compete at the highest level year? Or do you want to be 2007-2018 Ipswich?

I have to say, the championship is so much better even though even that is beginning b to be ruined by the money gap.

No VAR, competitive league, knowledgeable fans, no hype nonsense. No premier league anthem. Until recently normal kick off times although that's gonna be awful next year.

If we were better it would be alright.

One home win all season is fecking dreadful.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

Or we can learn from this season and continue to build as a club to be better for next time ? That or hope that we never finish above seventh in the Championship ever again.

Next season in the Championship will be much more enjoyable, getting back to winning football and seeing just what some of our players can do. No VAR to take away the moment. Hopefully a long overdue win over Norwich!

I hope we get promoted though so we get another huge financial boost. 2026-27 would be our last with parachute money, so the pressure would then be on. Better to do it next season, then have another go at the Premier League. We should strive to play at the highest level.

When we have back to back games with Watford and Millwall and we need to win both of them, but both of them sit back to defend for a 0-0 draw, think we will all remember that it is a long and attritional league where there is going to be massive tension and pressure for results.

Who'd your rather be a fan of next season?

Town who got into the Premier League after a double promotion way ahead of the owners ambitions who will go again next season having learnt what the modern day Premier league is all about now.

Or a club in freefall, no parachute payments, no manager, a so called legendary fickle fan base that hardly bothered to turn up this season who one game have the greatest manager ever and next game want him sacked.

I'm onboard with our project and we go again, learn from this season, get behind the team in August and be back here in 12 months celebrating again.

It's not the league that's been crap, it's been us. We haven't performed, haven't been good enough to compete, too easily taken out by all level of opposition teams. When Southampton and Wolves came to Portman Road and took away a victory it kind of confirmed those suspicions.

Sort of came back in a wave of hype. Two successive promotions, best seasons and times at club in 20 plus years or going back to George as manager, we probably ran before we could walk on the return back.

The EPL like it or not is the place to be. It has the revenue, the grandeur, the rewards of success etc but if after nine months of participation any one team hasn't been good enough or fallen away once again there really isn't much in the way of argument.

It's easy to see people are upset and real disappointed about how it's shaped up to be on the return back (it's been over 20 years wait) but many would argue we've only orchestrated our own downfall this season.

I’m looking forward to the champ. I wouldn’t swap the desire and ambition for progress back the PL. can we do better next time. Similar to end of last season, the gap is massive, I don’t know you can truly build a PL team whilst in the Champ. Leicester and Soton have shown that it is tough. Certainly we can learn and build for it and use recent knowledge of what it takes should we get back. That’s more my focus, we are back to one game at a time. Champ is fu@@ing tough to get out of. Winning relentlessly is not a given it’s a way of working, way of preparing, way of living, and doesn’t come easily no matter what players you have.

Looking forward to going back to Championship with the aim of getting promoted. Because we have to have something to aim for. The trick will be kidding ourselves it will be worth it and will be different next time. Starting to wonder if a European Super League for the elites might be better and it might even things out.
What are we really aiming for? To be a Brighton or a Brentford and to stick around the PL as long as possible?

On the basis of what we've seen at home this season no, but I guess its all part of the journey. If Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Fulham etc can become established teams no reason we can't. Palace have now reached a cup final that's the longer term goals. I fear it may take a couple more promotions/relegations though to stay up.

It wasn't a crap league when we finished 5th under George Burley.

I can't believe all the posts on here, VAR, corruption, poor officials. Excuse central.
