Was certainly what Hirst was saying to the ref and would explain the shot. I would like to see it again and wonder why it isn't on the highlights linked in this thread.
If it was a foul, VAR should have seen it and got the ref to look again and award the penalty and a red card shouldn't it? |
It was outside of the box and the view shown on tv showed there was no contact at all anyway. I imagine VAR saw the same and it was cleared up immediately. |  | | |

From my perch in the West Stand, I was in line with Hirsts shot. It looked like the defender kicked Hirst's kicking boot just as he was shooting. So the shot went wide, weakly. Very clever of the defender but looked like it should have been a penalty to me |
Looked the same to me, clipped his heel as he was shooting, although I think it was outside the area and may have been inadvertent. |  | | |

If he has clipped his heel to foul him outside the area when clean through on goal, that is still a red card offence whether it is deemed an intentional offence or not isn't it? | |

I think the Taylor one was booking both players for being a nuisance (i.e. delaying the game)... Norgaard got booked at the same time. He did another double booking of 1 player each side at another corner. So it wasn't a foul / ball in play type scenario.

Yes, he booked Hirst and the player who had shoved Hirst into the goal in the second half. Ref was atrocious at managing the situaiton from the start. | | | |

Would have to see it again but thought his standing foot went bit before and he lost balance, unless the defender nicked in late and touched his right foot, only saw it right after once. I didn’t think there was a foul there at the time. | | | |
