Not any new info but Chelsea are very keen on Delap because of the price that they can get him for and it’s a no brainier in terms of re sale if it doesn’t come off at Chelsea. Said he likes him and the way he gives defenders a hard time but his build up play is below the standard needed and doesn't think he’s near top 4 standard.

Shock amazement, every PL club sees Delap as a bargin basement price that they can sell on for a profit, but dont regard him as ready to lead their line ( Chelsea's view of him will be the same for most other PL clubs tbh), and they're not wrong.
Delap needs to think very carefully about his next move....or to stay here for another year, get many more games and a quite likely promotion back to the PL this time next year, and still be playing most games.
He won't get this at any other PL he goes to, because he's very much a one trick pony atm in terms of his current level.
Potential is not the same as realised potential. He actually needs to note what a certain Jamie Vardy did. Staying loyal to the club that developed him and got him to the level he eventually reached.
I actally think the euphoria surrounding Delap is out of proportion to his actual level atm. That's not to say he wont go on to achieve greater things, but I'm disappointed he's deciding to jump ship after just 12 months. [Post edited 17 May 12:08]

Only thing in Chelsea favour is that he’s worked with Maresca - however given what the Leicester and Chelsea fans think of Maresca not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing for them… | | | |

I dont see it as jumping ship because the guy was never a long term signing for us, we took the gamble knowing if it worked out and he impressed other clubs enough, theyd always be fighting to try and sign him from us after a season, I think whether we stayed up or not.
thats just the nature of the top leagues and the top clubs, theyve got the money and clout to do that, and we're very much a feeder club in that kind of process. | | | |
