Reckon they'll be all over town, home areas in the ground, in hospitality etc.? Got form for it, bank holiday weekend, last game of the season, and haven't had a league game here for ages (and won't again for at least a season). Might be quite annoying.

Over the very long years of watching Town, West Ham have always had fans seated in all areas of Portman Road. They are easily the worst club for it. But it seeems to happen everytime we play them down here . Trouble is,most of them live round here. I’ve worked with loads of them over the years. Way more common than any other teams round these parts.

Colchester and North Essex is full of 'em. Just a short hop up the A12 for them.

Do fans away fans go for a drink in town these days?

Chelsea chaps had packed out the Lord Nelson just before NYE when I had walked down for a beer from the Salthouse but most away fans don't seem to bother going past the station hotel do they, which incidentally all clubs seems to rave about! I find that quite funny.

I am sure the Essex WHU contingent will be having a beer on Sunday but can't imagine it will be a nightmare in this day and age!

Brentford were all in Isaacs but I think they might have all travelled in yacht's.

I think The Station puts on a bit of a show with an outside bar and music and stuff.

Hey Funky.

My mums side are all Chelmsford.

I spent my very very early infant years in Chelmsford and went there for most of my school holidays until about 15 until I realised my cousin Stuart was an odd bod.

You’ll be glad your not surrounded by Spammers, Gooners and Spurs fans, from being everyone’s favourite second team, suddenly we’re an easy target, I’m looking forward to the second tier, I’ve run out of ammunition.

I have to confess...........

All our Chelmsford lot are West Ham.

My grandad was West Ham and my dad was Fulham so as a kid it was a toss up between either of them or QPR as QPR were my closest "Big" team.

......But grandad took me to the games so I was a West Ham fan. I moved to Suffolk at about 11 and I was just about young enough to switch teams to Ipswich.

To be honest my grandad also started going to Ipswich as well because West Ham games in the 70's were a proper war zone.

You're old school Funky, do you think you could adequately describe West Ham, Man U, Spurs etc to one of the younger TW4TD elite? It really is like a different planet isn't it.

I’m not sure I could describe them in terms younger fans would understand, as they haven’t experienced battles in the North Stand (West Ham, Spurs, Man U, Liverpool), being chased around assorted away grounds after police escorts from the station to the ground (Leeds, Stoke, Birmingham, Derby, WBA) and the general atmosphere around football back in the day. Those are just the most extreme examples I can recall as someone who never went looking for trouble.

I was actually thinking last night about how things have changed this season - fans all let out at the same time and mingling reasonably peacefully back to the station and the dockside pre match has become a decent venue for both home & away support. Brentford lad I know advised me that it was all over their forums as the place to go beforehand and to avoid The Station Hotel for this reason.

Suspect things might well revert back to previous match day set-up next season when we get some of the more "earthy" teams visiting Fortress PR.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

Can’t disagree with that, there wasn’t much old school/authentic about the match day experience behind us this season! While I wouldn’t want to return to the atmosphere I knew growing up, I do despair of the corporate blandness we’ve had to endure in the PL.i guess I might be the one out of step with the times though.

Totally agree and suspect we'll have some insurgents behind us on Sunday who might get well get an earful at some point..

Our bit is probably the worst for it with those new boxes.

Has been an almost completely trouble free season in and around PR, and suspect a lot of that is to do with sensible policing for once.

I suspect the Brentford fans didn't realise how far dockside was from the stadium.

Yep!

The smug Spurs fan and the stewarding that day still make me seethe.

Agree on the policing - it's all been very low key and sensible. Stoke, Millwall & QPR et al will change that!

I only ask as my seat is up in the gods and as a borderline alcoholic elderly man I hate those blooming steps.

When you see me in your block it's because one of my lot don't go so i nick their slot.

Of course if sonny boy goes or gives his ticket to someone then great - but if there is an empty slot I would be glad to fill it.
