If he could behave himself I think he would be a good addition under K Mc K.

Williams suspended sentence by Zx1988 23 May 12:54
I assume the door is now open to him picking up a contract somewhere.

If, as suggested, Tuanzebe and Johnson may be off, if the club can be suitably reassured that BW is in a much better place, and if any potential contract suitably protects the position of the club, I certainly wouldn't be averse to seeing him back at Portman Road.

His recent interview, released at the point of his conviction, would suggest he wouldn't mind a return either.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

It wouldn't be a great look after a conviction on the one hand. But honestly people need second chances and forgiveness and he seems like he's been a bit of a lost soul and needs to rebuild his life.

I wouldn't be against it if the club gave him that chance though I can understand others may see it differently as he could have seriously hurt someone through his actions.

If he wanted to join us, I'd drive him here myself...well...actually no, because I can't drive; funnily enough, something me and Brandon have in common for the next 3 years...

All this talk of second chances? People are either forgetting or don't realise that when he joined us, we were his second chance. He'd messed up while he was at Man U, and as KMcK knew him offered him a chance of a change of scenery (probably away from some bad influences too) to make a fresh start. Betrayed the trust shown to him by giving us less than half a season of football (performance wise, from the sublime to the ridiculous), and then going missing for the second half of the season.

The main thing that helped us achieve the success we had in previous seasons was recruiting people who are good characters as well as good players; if he wants a "second second chance", really needs to be somewhere other than Town.

I am sure McKenna and Ashton would both need a lot of convincing that he is a truly reformed character highly unlikely to slip up again.

Yep think it would be amateurish to go back there so soon really - very Evans era. Hope he's able to complete the hard yards at another club, then who knows in a season or two.

You make a very good point about him having that second chance last time he was here. And he blew it. Literally.

The club has to be serious about operating to standards which means it can engage with the community; protect itself properly with owners and sponsors. Otherwise we are saying because anyone who has talent and is on the cheap for such reasons as his: bring them in!

Chopra, drunk drivers, unprofessional players - no problem because they ‘might do a job’. Thatcher, ‘our Nors’, who cares. Well I do. Seeing the Thatcher and rat face bowyer step out in an Ipswich shirt sickened me. The club is better than that.

As I said in the other post, I hope Williams has sorted himself out, put the party balloons away and goes on to have a brilliant career. Just not here.
