… know there was a thread on him the other day, but local Boro press reporting our interest in him again.

Going in to the season with him, Hirst and Guiu/Mubama would be a good start.

Seems like lazy reporting

Apparently we have £30m from the sale of LD to chuck around

If we wanted him you have to think we would have got him in January.

Truly impaired.

You would. But then I don't think we would have matched that money for him. I'm sure we would be interested but I could only see us offering in the £10-12 million range which would be a big loss for Atlanta on their reported fee, unless a lot was based on add ons.

Poll: Who do we think McKenna (not you) will partner Greaves with ?

Loan with view to permanent deal as well.

As far as I'm aware we showed no interest in January, so think it would be a surprise if we went back for him now.

He'd probably have to take a fairly hefty pay cut to come to us you would think. Reportedly on around 70k a week at Atlanta.

Poll: How many points do you think you'll need to get a ticket for Norwich?

What are your thoughts on the Guiu / Mubama links Phil? Presumably an either / or? If at all?

From what I gather there is something in the Guiu loan link, but he didn't seem up for it. Mubama sounds like a McKenna sort of signing, so wouldn't be at all surprised if he's one they like as well.

I just don't see Guiu coming here, even loaned I'm sure there would be a lot more attractive offers across Europe.

I suspect that was why he was hesitant.

He is struggling to make an impact at MLS level. Atlanta play on astroturf which takes some getting used to and the team has got off to a poor start despite spending big this summer. His performances have been ok, he has scored some goals. But, I expected him to make a bigger impact. I would think this is paper-talk as he has just signed a long term deal. If unhappy in USA then it could be true.
