Maybe I missed it in the pre-fight coverage but how much of a Town fan is Wardley? Says he’s a Chantry boy… was he a regular at Portman Road? Season ticket holder? Did any aways?

Had enough away points to get tickets to Norwich the other season...

Watch that video and it will tell you. Nice lad and I hope he does well. But by all accounts never been a town fan.
This is a depressingly negative thread FFS! The club do something different and put on a really good event. I can't understand the mindset of winging about it. Just don't go!!!!! Just don't go! Wow.
This makes no difference to your life other than putting some money in your clubs account (which is good no?). If you like boxing it's a great night out.
Further down we have people questioning if he's a town fan. Yes he is. Completely baffled why anyone is trying to FIND negatives and fault. Cheer up. Stop moaning.

Agree with the stop moaning about the event.
Disagree with him being a town fan. It's a seemingly mutually beneficial arrangement between him and club but he has no interest in the club beyond self promotion.

Do you know this for a fact. He's from Ipswich, he certainly been supporting them as a minimum for a number of years (supposedly lifelong but I don't know that and frankly I don't need to. It's not about how die hard he is. He's and Ipswich boy, he wears the crest on his shorts and is quite literally supporting the club and putting money in the clubs account. So what if the club are lifting him up as well. That's a good thing. That's what a community football club does.
I'll say it again. Stop looking for negatives. See the positives and enjoy. Worst case just don't watch/go. That really is all there is it it

Agree on the boxing bit. Nobody is being forced to go, nobody’s being forced to pay £300 for pitch tickets. If people want to then that’s up to them.
The Norwich away ticket allocation still annoys me. Loyal fans who had been to a lot of away games missed out when they really should’ve had first refusal ahead of hundreds who just happened to know the right people to ask. It wasn’t standard practice, it was a compete divergence from the normal allocation criteria simply because it was local and we were doing well.
It’s nothing new in football or society more generally, but the principle annoyed me then and still does.

This is what mutually beneficial means.....I'm not in anyway denying it to be useful for both parties.
I think fans who don't care about boxing will remember him taking Norwich away tickets. I'd never seen him there before.... and also him being a bit me, me, me at promotion.

He jumped on the bandwagon when we started to rise up from League 1 and not so long ago people went back through his social media activity and discovered he'd made no mention of us up to that point but had plenty to say about Man Utd.
Maybe he's grown something of an affinity to us after being invited into the directors' box every week and having Ashton butter him up all the time, I don't know.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Now he's got his fight, and Ashton has got his payday, I wouldn't be surprised for there to be a very quiet parting of the ways.
