Looks like job done with O’Rourke being pretty reliable.

That seems a massive risk to me.

Brave move, but they obviously have the inside track on him and have seen how he works. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out they’ve made another good decision.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Seems like he's the last coach left in the building to promote....

Arguably bringing in an 'outsider' will always be a bigger risk for Brentford - they have a particular management structure, and Andrews will be fully engaged in that already.

Time will tell.

Half pint empty viewpoint:

So a set-piece coach gets the nod over our man. What's wrong with our Kieran, then? Not good enough?

But that’s the odd thing - he isn’t. Claus Norgaard, who was Frank’s assistant at Brentford and before that at Brondby and at the Danish FA, didn’t follow him to Spurs and is still at Brentford. Strange that he would stay there to be assistant to someone else.

Brentford usually promote from within. They know him and what he's capable of and if they think he's capable of doing the job then why go through the expense and effort of chasing and nabbing a manager who hasn't proved himself at Premier League level from another club?

Guardian reporting that Andrews considered but now Brentford keen on an external candidate. Looks like the Bees are as watertight as ITFC when it comes to "in the know" and most people are just guessing...

Brentford's model has always been designed to recruit from within.
As I've said before, Brentford don't have a manager in the traditional sense, they have a coach. In the Brentford model the recruiting team identifies the players the club buys with no final say by the coach. The players are given to the coach and the coach is expected to coach them into a team. The traditional manager would expect final say on which players.
Brentford know a lot of 'Managers' out there wouldn't accept that model. Hence they prefer the model of getting people into their coaching setup to work with that model and gain the experience and then move them up. Remember when Frank was given the role after Smith moved to Villa, lots of non Brentford fans laughed about what a gamble that was, and why don't they recruit a manager externally.
Obviously if Frank had moved and taken all of his coaching team then that would be different. But my Brentford supporting mate tells me Frank had assured Brentford he wouldn't take his entire coaching team.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jun/13/spurs-hold-talks-over-signing-b

"Brentford are expected to target an external candidate to replace Frank despite holding talks with Keith Andrews about stepping up from his role as set-piece coach. The former Republic of Ireland midfielder has emerged as a potential candidate for the manager’s post. He joined Brentford last summer and is highly regarded at the club but it is understood he is unlikely to be given his first senior role in management there.

Brentford’s owner, Matthew Benham, is believed to have considered promoting Justin Cochrane from his role as Frank’s assistant until the 43-year-old former midfielder, who is part of Thomas Tuchel’s England staff, opted to join Tottenham instead. Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna and the former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic are among those being considered to take over instead."
