Blue Action Tifo’s 2025/26 17:13 - Jun 16 with 3905 viewsBlue_Order

We only produced one North Stand display this season, “The Future Is Now”, against Liverpool on the opening day. Following mass complaints from supporters of their pre-match view being blocked by the banner that was unfurled from the top tier, the club wouldn’t permit any more tifos on that scale for the rest of the season.

While we were disappointed and disheartened at our display being negatively affected by some fans, we take our share of blame for it. Our communications weren’t clear enough as to what the tifo would entail, and we didn’t take into consideration how much it meant to fans to see the players enter the pitch that day. In hindsight, we would have chosen a different style of display so’s not to take away that moment for supporters.

After discussions with the club, we will be returning to organising displays in the North Stand next season. Whilst the displaying of any tifo means that some of the fans partaking will potentially have their pre-match view spoiled, going forward we will try and minimise this and plan accordingly. Our communications will also be more clear as to what will happen during any display.

We have two tifos already planned - the first of which will be for the opening game at Portman Road next season. Our group funds have covered the costs for this display, and we will be starting work on it shortly.

The second will be for the home derby, whenever that may be. We require some funding for that one, as to cover the full North Stand will cost us around £3,000. We will be releasing some new merch over the summer to help towards the cost, and have also set up a gofundme for help with donations.

All of our displays are fully handmade and fan funded. Whilst more and more clubs and groups in England are taking the route of using outside agencies and printing firms to produce tifos for them, we strongly believe that these actions should instead be 100% fan led - funded, created and organised by Ipswich Town supporters. Our group members all pay towards the cost of tifo materials, but these costs are beyond us when it comes to the big displays, so we’re asking for support from the wider fanbase.

Anything you can donate will be very much appreciated by the group, and will help towards what we hope will be a successful season for our football club. The more funds we can raise, the more large displays we can produce, including potential big games next spring.

Thanks as always for your continued support. Nothing is possible without it.

Things we’re not allowed to do:
- Enjoy seeing the players walk out in the Premier League
- Be happy to be in the Premier League
- Buy tickets in the North Stand without permission
- Have an opinion that differs to yours

Was there anything else that the rest of us are doing wrong?

“Mate, you don’t need to watch the team play, they do that every week.”

You're allowed to do all of those. I'm not the one getting teary and downarrowing everything in sight. You just sound incredibly selfish and entitled is all.

I hope the Norwich one is my Super Hans idea! But whatever it is, try one for the end, should we win. great having them at the entry of the team, but one unfurled after a victory would be sweet.

Totally agree - I also think that for the sake of atmosphere I would put BA in the middle of the SBR Stand lower stand. Having BA where they are is like playing your best player out of position.

We need to get the club to support getting blue action into the middle of the SBR. Helping improve atmosphere in what is a vital season for us this year.

I understand there was previously issue about displacing season ticket holders who didn’t want to be part of blue actions proposed north stand section. However, the club moved fans to accommodate away fans last season so I see no issue, it is something that could significantly improve the match day experience and have a positive impact on the players.

The number of seats for away fans had to be increased so some home fans had to be moved. This wasn't a club decision as such, it was a league decision.

Having been in my seat for 35+ years I would have been annoyed to have moved for the away fans, but would have accepted it as it was out of the clubs hands.

Having to give up my seat for someone who thinks their a better fan than me? Not a chance.

I honestly don't think it matters where they are, if others want to join in then they will, they won't think "oh, the bottom of the north stand is singing i better join in" they'll join in if they want to. Having been going to away games for 35 years , all home grounds are the same. Very rarely have I come away from a game thinking "cracking home support today" its just the way it is.

I think framing it as 'someone who thinks their a better fan than me' is just unfair and inaccurate. It is more about how can we ensure we have a strong vocal support at home.

Just saying 'all home support is crap' is a bit defeatist.

It's not crap at Elland rd and can be a huge sporting advantage to them (when the Leeds fans are not on their backs).

It does matter where they are and the acoustics surrounding them, the number of fans in that stand to allow songs to spread etc, of course it does.

Poll: If we sing for 90 mins for all remaining games, how many points is it worth?

I appreciate what Blue Action do and the displays have always been fantastic, with the exception of the Liverpool game last season. It's already been said but to miss watching the players walk out after waiting 22 years for the moment was a p*sstake and like many others in the lower north I was furious - that said, it was an overreaction by the club in my eyes to ban any other displays throughout the season.

The atmosphere is always far better following a tifo display and I welcome them back from next season. As per the OP, if it's communicated in advance, it will be appreciated by one and all.

The actions of Blue Action (including the anti-Evans protests) will always outweigh the negative impact of that one game. Everyone makes mistakes, it's how we learn from them.

Having once been told by a older teen/younger 20 year old that I'm "not a true fan unless you sit in Bobby Robson" I stand by what I said.

The absolute grief the other stands get on here for not joining in is tedious

I bet you weren’t displaced last season. If you were you might think a bit differently.

No one was displaced as that alludes to someone being forced from their homes and moved elsewhere. Whereas the club simply moved some to another seat. No one has a god given right to seat anywhere no matter how many years they’ve been in the same spot.

For the greater good of the atmosphere, Blud Action should be accommodated in the middle of SBR Lower.

Displaced also means ‘having been forced out of its usual or original position’, so yes season ticket holders who were forced to move due to either the expanded away allocation or press box were displaced, and the poster is right that those acting like it was no big deal would think differently if it was their own seat that was forced to move

This topic seems to bring out the most mental of arguments from otherwise sensible posters. Earlier in the thread Mullet has suggested those feeling put out at not being able to see the pitch at a football match they’ve paid to attend are selfish and entitled, and now you’re simultaneously arguing that no one has a god given right to a seat yet Blue Action should be given other people’s seats. They’ve paid for the seat, and get first refusal each season.

God given right? No.

Club given right? Yes. And indefinitely, until they (or unavoidable requirements) decide otherwise. It’s a pretty basic concept of football ticketing.

If the club forced you from your seat, you’d feel the same.

I was just using the terminology used by that poster.

I guess you weren't forced to change seat last season either
