Anyone been following?

Close test. India doing a good job here of keeping the scoreboard ticking, 177 lead now. Rahul and Pant looking pretty comfortable.

Solid start from England, Bumrah seen off and 10 wickets in hand. I suspect the weather is the thing which spoils this.

Forecast looking favourable, the morning was the issue and we're through that.

Rubs starting to flow now.

Another classic on the cards.

The actual required rate is under 4 so it's doable. Looks set up for a classic afternoon's cricket.

Yep. Still time to go into lunch two down but it's a nice solid start.

WFH for rest of day and delighted to see all 10 wickets are still in the bank.

Required rate under 4. Very doable and any opposition know England are capable of it.

Would be a hell of a win considering India's positions in their innings. Hope the weather holds.

That second wicket has opened things up a bit but 147 needed now.

I don't think anyone would rule out the probability of a collapse but the next hour of play feels critical either way.

India benefitted from the rain break. They were looking clueless.

The more overs that tick by, an India win looks less likely. Run rate very manageable, especially by England standards but yes, a collapse can't be ruled out, but it needs a much more joined up Indian effort to inspire one.

Just hope rain doesn't ruin this.

Very docile track for a fifth day. England look far too comfortable. India lack pace in their bowling attack to get anything out of it. When you factor in their inability to get wickets in English conditions, a long useless tail, total reliance on 4 of their top 5 to get runs it is difficult to see them getting much out of this series. So saying Duckett has thrown his wicket away.

Really need Stokes not to do something similarly stupid now.

115 needed. Hmmm....

Jadeja bowling into that rough is not going to be an easy watch.

102 needed, probably a good time for Tea now for England.

Stokes chucking his wicket away, too.

Bloody frustrating, some of this, but is set up for an absolute classic of a finish.

Predictable end for Stokes that.

At least there are no more left handers for Jadeja to bowl outside off stump to.

Surprised the stands are so empty, is test cricket always like that these days?

I think it's probably down to the scheduling of the match.

TMS suggested earlier that Yorkshire would probably have wanted the match to start on Thursday had they known it would go to five days.

Otherwise it's probably a bit of an ask to get a decent crowd when you're having to put Day 5 tickets on sale at such short notice.

Tuesday not the easiest day to get off work at short notice and the school holidays are still a few weeks away.

What an over that was to finish it off.

Well played England and hopefully the series lives up to that first Test.

Indeed. I take it all back about being set up for a classic finish - England made it look easy in the end.

Jasiwell's catching arguably cost India the match. He must feel pretty awful.

Had a lumpy bet India 5/4 this morning.

I’ve got them 8/13 in my view. It’s a day 5 pitch and England need 350 against Bumrah. India just have to be odds on

Remarkable that 5/4 was the best price all day - this England side have absolutely flipped the script on fourth innings chases.

A great toss to win and choose to bat second.
0
Cricket on 20:22 - Jun 24 with 199 viewsvilanovablue

India lost 13 wickets for 71 which will cost any side. India lost a test when they were 430 for 3 in the first innings which is borderline mental.
