You can just imagine EFL and Sky execs sitting around having a circle jerk about Ed sitting next to Tom Brady.

Two tough games to start, 4pts would be a decent return given it's unlikely we will have all our new signings in the door by then you'd guess.

It's a slightly easier start than last season! There is that.

That's a tough welcome back to the Championship for Birmingham.

Quite!

Suppose the roles are reversed this time. Recall Slot saying he'd rather not face a newly promoted team up first - I know the feeling!

Our Christmas and run in don't look too bad though - except Nodge away, which we will of course get zero points from as standard.

It's certainly a tough start for them too but by God, St Andrews will not be a comfortable place to start.

We might not have lost everyone we're going to lose at that point either. SInisterra looked excellent for Leeds when they beat us a couple of seasons back,

Might not be bad if we can have Omari before he leaves on deadline day...

There's that and Brum and Saints may not have their business settled by then either.

Hard to imagine Omari will still be here though given there seems little room for manoeuvre. If somebody hits the £35m ask then that's that you'd imagine.

3-4pts from those opening two would be totally fine though.

Tough start for us, however if we can get through the first six with 12 points or more we're going walk it.

If absolutely must lose Hutchinson this summer, please let it be after the first couple of games. Also, please let it be after he has torn a new one for Brum and the Saints!

We’ve wilted there before in big games. Hopefully we’re up for it.

That was our first game back down in 1995, that didn't go too well. It was a nice sunny day for drinks though.

1995-96 all over again, including a relegation-threatened London side for our last game.

I like this as an opener.

Yes, it's potentially tough, and we want to get off to a flier, but with so many people 'talking up' Brum as a promotion challenger, it's an excellent reference point for us on opening day.
