There is a whole world of gap between being a top player at Ipswich and being a full England international right now. It is clear Hutchinson is a top Town player and has loads of room to develop. It is also clear he is nowhere near a full England cap right now. His pathway to full England honours would be better served playing a full season with Town than being a squad player at a lower end Premier League club. Of course, were he to be a regular somewhere in the Premier League, that would serve him even better but let's hope no Premier Club is looking at that as an option. | |

He did attempt lots of dribbles, but if my memory is still good, a lot of Town fans moaned his decision making around those was poor. A lot of them ended up with him running into defenders, and the ball lost. End product was poor especially at the start of the season. Many times he lost the ball instead of passing.
It's starting to remind me of the Leif situation at the start of last season, when many Town fans had Leif down as the best LB and he should be playing for England. If I remember correctly (again) a lof of those Town fans changed their minds after a few games into the season |  | | |

He would have to go some this season in the premier league to have any hope of making the squad. Not a criticism of him, just a reflection of how much traffic there is. That’s probably true of all of the u21 squad to be honest. Maybe Elliott if he gets a good move this summer and rips it up, perhaps Livramento given we’re pretty short defensively, but in all honesty I wouldn’t be surprised if none of Carsley’s current squad go next summer. Generally the top talent outgrows u21 football by 19/20. It’s nuts to think Palmer and Bellingham were eligible to play last night. Maybe even Saka too, if he wasn’t it would only be a couple of months in it. Difference at senior level of course is Tuchel has the pick of all age groups, not just 2-3 years.
He’s a very good player and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone meets the valuation for him, but I doubt he’s eyeing a place in the World Cup squad within his thinking. |  | | |

Hutchinson was still one of our best players at times last season, he was just playing in a side miles off it. There was quite a few that massively disagreed with me that someone would come in for him this summer, when I started a thread about it as recently as April/May. [Post edited 29 Jun 17:55]
