As a footballer, Nathaniel Chalobah is by a long distance their best footballer, unbelievable baller.
There must be reasons for him not playing at the very top level, and I don’t know what they are.
But when he came out of Cobham, and had his first spell at Watford, I thought he was going to play at the highest level - he was so highly rated by Chelsea at the time. [Post edited 29 Jun 20:50]

As a footballer, Nathaniel Chalobah is by a long distance their best footballer, unbelievable baller.
There must be reasons for him not playing at the very top level, and I don’t know what they are.
But when he came out of Cobham, and had his first spell at Watford, I thought he was going to play at the highest level - he was so highly rated by Chelsea at the time. [Post edited 29 Jun 20:50]

Yeah, he was expected to be top draw. He could boss the midfield in his time and has the physicality we say we’re missing.
I’d not realised his brother was again loaned out by Chelsea this season and was only recalled and playing for Chelsea because of an injury crisis. I thought he’d established himself at Chelsea, but seemingly not. It’s a waste. He’s another player who could have been so much more had he settled at a smaller club.
If it was down to me I’d have a cap on the number of development players a club can have. Probably about a 3rd of Chelsea’s number. At one point fairly recently they had over 40 players out on loan. It’s not good for the game of the players. | |

Reading some of their forum and some fans seem to have a real fear of not being in a position to start the season. As much as a few of their fans were obnoxious during our League 1 fixtures they are a good, old traditional club and if Evans had jumped ship earlier and not been diligent in who he sold us to then that could quite easily have been us.
Looks like the Cadamateri sale might be enough to keep the lights on until ticket revenue starts coming in at the start of the season but it must be a horrible time to be a fan of their club. | |

Completely agree with you, but at the same time I'm conflicted; Given their repeated track record of throwing things on the pitch/at players/officials, it's very hard to be too sympathetic.
I don't think had that happened to us, we'd have gone there as a group of fans. |  |

Agree their club should have clamped down on that and banned people more quickly but it's still a tiny fraction of their fans. I've also seen vapes chucked on the pitch near the U2 stand this season when the opposition have been celebrating in that area.
Every time I've been there I've ended up chatting with some of their fans who have all been decent. [Post edited 30 Jun 8:56]
