Ed Sheeran Concert - Parking 08:44 - Jul 2 with 2075 viewsitfcfan123

Any idea of good places to park for the Concert? didn't know if they're going to hike up prices as usual places in and around Ipswich because of it?

Ordinarily yes, but as its summer the Gatwick car parks are generally full.

Car parking aside, it seems that Greater Anglia are running extra trains on the Liverpool Street to Norwich line, but not on local services. In fact it looks like local trains might have been cancelled. Am I interpreting their statement correctly?

So if you live in the heart of "Sheeran country" you cannot get a train home after the gig.

Wherever you park allow extra time to get here atm, Ipswich traffic is especially terrible due to the Orwell Bridge works.

If you're early enough then Cardinal Park is probably the closest/most convenient and I imagine it will be easy enough to get away later on as don't expect many people will drive (compared to football games). One thing to note is that they probably will close the roads towards the train station after to get crowds away so try not to drive that way!

Seem to recall you can park on Gippswyk park for £15. Pre booked.

£15 ?? Can't accept that.

Book a film at Omniplex with a start time roughly close to your parking time. Park in the Buttermarket, go to the lobby of the cinema and validate your parking, then walk straight out again. Total cost: £6 (not sure how this compares to just paying regular parking fees, depends how long you will be) Have to be parking after 4pm for this to work.

A similar strategy may work at Cineworld / Cardinal Park, but their film prices are higher so might not be much saving.

"Wherever you park allow extra time to get here atm, Ipswich traffic is especially terrible...because people drive all the time often less than 2miles,and then complain about all the traffic"

there fixed that for you

Right as that may be, it doesn’t make my post less true.

I dont think theyre saying that, its rather that there just arent any trains running to those destinations after 10:30pm from Ipswich, which is basically how it is normally.

But its perhaps dont assume the extra trains publicity means thats changing, even if it would make more sense than running some of those London/Norwich trains after midnight.
