Diogo Jota on 14:51 - Jul 3 with 1231 views | Denny32 | Very sad and tragic,.but people who drive these high performance cars ,especially petrol engines and 0.to 60 in 3 seconds plus top speed of 200 mph..don't stand a chance if in a crash especially high speed or blow out of tyre in this case....

Very sad, I saw a very nice Lamborghini in Bury St Edmunds today, 102 A number plate, 6.5 litre petrol engine and hybrid electric motor as well. That will take some handling if you give it bit too much throttle.

Shameful to be showing your wokeness over the deaths of two young men.
Diogo Jota on 16:44 - Jul 3 with 1029 views | Whos_blue | Another 2 lives needlessly snuffed out in an avoidable road traffic collision. With UK road related fatalities running around 1600 per year, the impact on wider families is immeasurable. Jota being famous has made this headline news but this is the sad reality on our own roads everyday. So sad for all involved.

Sorry but a blown tyre is not avoidable. Has happened to me. Luckily I was only going about 45 or so and came to a halt right outside Ed Sheeran's driveway

Jota must’ve been going one hell of a speed for the Lamborghini to erupt in flames after the crash. Guessing speed will be in a factor in the death, turns out he was going to catch a ferry back to the UK as he’d been advised not to fly after a lung op. Desperately sad especially leaving three young children behind

Lambos are known to catch fire easily. They don't even need to crash to catch fire.

Are they? Not doubting you just really interested. I used to work in the US a lot (pre Trump) and almost every day there would be a news piece about someone being injured or killed in 'a fiery wreck', always found it odd as its so rare in the UK.

He thinks I poked you to change your link because it was a link to The Mail. He's obviously a Mail reader as for him that meant I was 'Woke'. He then chased me on another thread, saying that he had 'caught me'. If only the people who use the word knew where it actually came from. 😂

Putting huge blocks of concrete in the middle of your roads can’t but help the likelihood of cars bursting into flames with ruptured petrol tanks. Saw a lot of this travelling 17 between San Jose and Santa Cruz.

You say that, but that’s what is starting to happen on our motorways. Concrete barriers are safer than metal as with the latter you are likely to end up on the opposite side. And the wire ‘catch’ barrier has a habit of flipping cars onto their roofs.

I am no expert but I thought the metal barriers were designed to keep vehicles on the right side of them and enable them to travel along the barrier to stop so it isn't such a sudden stop (therefore less force involved and fewer injuries). Again, I don't know for sure but larger, higher vehicles may be more likely to go over the top of them and there is a trend towards cars being larger and higher.

This is certainly the intent of the metal barriers, especially the ones that combine tensioned steel cables, which help ‘catch’ the vehicle. Concrete blocks are better for massive impacts, but I suspect the appearance of them in this country is driven more by cost savings.
