The insects, not the rugby union side. Just me or do the little bas#t ards seem really early this year. I was being bothered by the sods in early June.

Went to a festival last weekend and the bastards were everywhere. One even landed and drowned in my pint, still drank it though.

Good to see them - there were not enough last year.

Vespidae are crucial for pest control, pollination, and maintaining ecological balance.

You're lucky - I was at a barbecue on Sunday, drinking Newcy Brown straight from the bottle.
At one point, I took a good swig and was surprised to feel a non-liquid wad of matter in my mouth. I quickly retrieved it with my fingers, but not before the little bastard had stung me twice. Lesson learnt.

A little tip I picked up while on holiday in Kefalonia a few years ago.
Place some ground coffee either used or fresh and make sure it’s totally dry. Place in some aluminium foil or a tin can and set it alight so it smoulders. The jaspers don’t like the aroma and tend to keep a reasonable distance thus allowing for a trouble free beer or two.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Saw my first one in my garden just this week. Seems pretty late to me, but me and time have a strange relationship.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
