I think it’s extremely rare that McKenna (or any manager in fact) is indeed these days involved in the negotiations of a transfer. So McKenna will be right, his focus was on the group this week and if a club granted permission for a player to talk with us, it’s at that point he’d become involved.

Is the 7 day rule a thing at elite level? If so sounds like we aim to speak with him this week coming before concluding a deal with Boro. He may have other genuine suitors though and we are therefore not at the front of the queue, it difficult to know whether other PL club interest is real or more then agent pushing the narrative. | |
