He is the right level of being good so won’t be moved on (Clarke, Broadhead, AAH), not so good that he will be in the PL very soon (Hutch), not old enough that he will have one last contract and needs to maximise it (Burgess, Morsy, maybe Chaplin), not unproven at this level (Humph). Plus he clearly loves playing under McKenna and having played for a few managers who didn’t rate him values knowing the club and fans rate him highly.

Hutchinson is not a member of the double promotion squad.

Last Man Standing from the Double Promotion squad will be…. on 15:29 - Jul 25 with 208 views | jayessess | So what's the count Walton Hladky X Davis Edmundson X Woolfenden Burgess X Clarke Donacien X Morsy X Burns Harness X Ball X Luongo X Humphreys Ladapo X Chaplin Jackson X Aluko X Broadhead Hirst In order of most to least likely to be here in 2029 (the longest any of them are contracted for): 1. Hirst - contracted to 2029 when he turns 30, unlikely to ever be too good or too bad for us 2. Davis - similar to Hirst, but more chance of a move 3. Woolfenden only other player contracted beyond next Summer, likely to still be a useful player to have around the group at any conceivable level we end up at 4. Clarke - still young, might kick on and end up at similar level to Hirst, Davis and earn another contract. 5. Humphreys - similar logic to Clarke but still more unproven 6. Chaplin - one year left, would be 32 by 2029. But pace isn't massive in his game, clever player, good squad man, goal scorer, might be one you'd keep around. 7. Broadhead - lovely player, but contract has only one more year and you just get the sense he is on the outs. But not impossible that's wrong and we re-up his contract and he spends the rest of his 20s here. Got the quality for sure. 8. Walton - again one year left, can't see any circumstances either party would want to renew 9. Burns - one year left, would be 34 by 2029, hard to imagine a scenario where we're still having him charge up and down the right wing at the end of the decade
