Just a drop in the ocean for him to save his home town club.

Why should he? He's a Man U fan & Morecambe, like many clubs, have been living beyond their means.

The problem is the owner won’t step aside/sell.

There is at least one party who wanted to buy the club but they’ve just been messed around

No reason that he should.

His said he would in the past he has also said his life is not about money which is total boll*cks I lost respect for Fury a long while ago regards honesty.

The proposed buyer has already loaned money to the club, I suspect they will be able to use their position as a creditor to takeover the club eventually.

Not sure Fury would be the ideal owner.

I think 95% of clubs probably live beyond their means. The football business model is pretty f**cked.

Tyson Fury, like many boxers, says a lot of things that don't stand up to much scrutiny.
Still deserves a huge amount of respect for his achievements in the ring, though.

What mechanism is there for him to help? Reports suggest a problem between the existing owner and potential buyers. It appears more a squabble which has resulted in a refusal to input funds, rather than just running out.

Plus I doubt Fury has the funds to run an insolvent football club with sizeable debt - even at National League level - indefinitely.

In any case, a football club is a sporting institutuion and a leisure activity for its fans, not a charity benefitting the poor and unfortunate in the town.

Maybe best you don't talk about things you know nothing about.

The problem is the owner and anyone trying to push blame onto anyone else quite frankly is doing a despicable owners bidding for him. The owner has form for this, he did the same with a rugby team and has a history of making statements that are untrue and only looking after number one.

Maybe have a bit of sympathy for your fellow football fans rather than swallowing what you have been spoon fed by someone who couldn't give a damn about the club and has a track record of behaviour that suggests he is not a fit and proper owner.

The owner has been a director at 25 companies during his career, according to Companies House. Of those 25 companies, 18 have been either dissolved, voluntarily dissolved, put into administration, put into liquidation, or put into receiver action whilst his partner is a solicitor barred by the Solicitors Regulation Authority from working as one because of misconduct.

Ooof, that feels like an ankle breaking retaliation tackle to a fairly innocuous comment from Guthers. You haven’t said what he actually said that deserved such a rugged response.

Re-read my post.

I wasn't in any way defending the owner. They, after all, are the one reportedly refusing to put the funds in to keep the club going and the one not proceeding with what is said to have been an agreed sale. I used careful language because I don't want TWTD to get into trouble over libel allegations.

As for the other bit, football is not a charity and carping at Tyson Fury because he won't bail out the club is, in my view, misguided.

Although the owner’s representatives did release the statement below a few days ago saying they are willing to accept the current offer but Punjab Warriors have gone quiet, so who knows who’s telling the truth.

If the owner’s being an arse and messing around potentially buyers, there’s not much anyone can do. See also Sheffield Wednesday.

Would you expect Ed Sheeran to plough money into us if we were struggling but with an owner that seems to want to kill us?

If Fury has no interest/skills etc to takeover (even if he was allowed), why would he throw money at a business model and owner that is trying to fail?
