Having just watched an old clip of Wayne Rooney scoring against City with a bicycle kick, got me wondering... has a Town player ever scored from one? I can't recall one personally.

Sir Lancalot Camel-Turnip scored against Sunderland in 1954, with an penny-farthing kick, at the old Roker Park. The game was refereed by Margaret Rutherford.
The Reverend Clive Slipper-Fungus netted a spectacular unicyclist’s volley against Halifax Town in 1937, moments after blessing the goalposts with elderflower cordial. The match was officiated by two men dressed as Edwardian lamplighters, one of whom was definitely Alan Bennett.

Oh of course. I'd forgotten about that one. I think that was the same game in which the Sunderland keeper Stubby Giles got decapitated but played on regardless.

Indeed - that's the one. Watched by 58,054 and a cat.

The cat was called Archie and was a black cat who roamed Roker Park and the surrounding area. He had a reputation for being thrown out of the local pubs when he would become abusive after patrons would give him Newcy Brown. Legend has it he single handedly ran the Geordies up the road after a Derby game. Hence, Sunderland earned the nickname The Black Cats.

Go to 1:19 for a strong candidate
I watched long highlights at both 1m19s and 1h19m and didn't see any bicycle kick goals, though did realise that things I thought happened ten years ago were actually 22 years ago.

1hr 19 mins was the correct point. Not a bicycle kick but I believe I was answering a question about best Town goal ever.
