Town TV ... again 02:28 - Aug 5 with 1663 viewsurbanblue

I have just noticed on the website that when purchasing a match pass you do not now get a full replay. Have to be a monthly subscriber to watch a replay.

This is absolute crap. Living in Australia, so many of the games are in the middle of the night and although I usually get up and watch there are occasional times when I have something on that night or the next day that I just can't. I was previously able to watch it at a later time. That will not be possible now.

Would have thought they Club would want my tenner still but obviously not. Another change to the detriment of us long term overseas fans.

Subscriber is just £5.99 a month

I know, but I also have to subscribe to Bein Sports to watch the televised games which aren't shown on Town TV.

It's all starting to get quite expensive. I just would have thought a Match Pass would include the replay, as in previous seasons, for those of us abroad where kick off is at an ungodly hour ...

... and it's the principal.

But...monthly is cheaper. I haven't figured it out exactly but i reckon you're better off doing one payment of 5.99 for the month than two or three of 10.

I'm probably going to skip beinsport and just watch all our games the next day on towntv. Yes, i'll miss live but no-one cares enough about ipswich to tell me the score anyway.

You are comparing apples with oranges there. Monthly £5.99 yes is cheaper but doesn't include Live games. So how is it better?

Fine if you don't want to watch games live, but I want to. Watching the games on replay is just never the same. Maybe good for you but not for me unless I really have to.

I'm probably (almost definitely, if you remember it differently and have explained how you remember it) wrong, but I don't recall being able to watch replays last time Town were in the Championship when I bought match passes (I was not a subscriber). Or maybe it's different in different parts of the world. Still trying to work out my best strategy here in the Czech Republic.

How much do you think it costs fans who actually goto the games? £5.99 barely covers the cost of the 1st pint when you get there.

Unless I am misunderstanding your point, what Bondi’s is saying is correct. So you just buy your match pass at £10 the majority of times that you are available to stay up to watch the match live. Then when you have something on the next day so unable to watch live, you buy the monthly subscription for £5.99 so you can watch the replay the next day.

The point being that you will not be paying more money. Quite the contrary, you will actually be saving £4.00 per match (for matches you can’t watch live).

To clarify, you will not need to buy a subscription in any month that you know you will be able to watch all available matches live (which you have said is your preference).

I am also in Australia and probably plan to do exactly what I have just described. Again, apologies if I have misunderstood your post and only trying to help a fellow ex pat!

Are you sure? When I bought a match pass for the Austria game I was able to watch the full replay.

When I got the other two friendlies free for being a member I did not get the replay.

Not sure if it was just a one off for me on the Austria friendly but assumed I got it because I paid for the match pass.

If you didn't already try clicking it despite it saying subscription only if you paid for it.

No worries at all. I'm still a bit confused but there's light at the end of the tunnel. I think (think) these are our options:

August:
Birmingham - sky
Southampton - sky
Preston
Derby

Beinsport for the month: $14.99
Town TV monthly: $12.30
All games live + replays

or

Beinsport for the month: $14.99
2× town TV match passes: $41
All games live + brum & southampton replays, no preston or derby replays

or

Town tv monthly: $12.30
2 games live + replay, brum & southampton games replay only

If i can do option A all year i will, but in the mid-season lull i'll probably just do town tv monthly and suck up missing out on live sky games. I'm a cheapskate though.

Have a look at the Town TV Streaming guide on the website. There is a section saying Town TV at a glance. A cross is under Full Match Replay underwhat you get with a Video Match Pass.

Worth noting that beinsport 12 month subscription is on sale at the moment. $129. $60 off (allegedly). Tempting.

Sky games are streamed on Bein Sports over here. Have a subscription and can watch full replay. A Friday night game would generally be 4.30 to 5.30 am here depending on kick off time. At this time of year anyway. They are the hard ones as I work on Saturdays and there's no time to go back to bed after unlike Saturday games.

The Birmingham game is at 5.30am ... No way I'm missing that live.

That’s a great breakdown. Thanks Bondi.
Just to add another option to the mix for everyone (not just in Australia, as the principle works the same no matter which country you live in) check put this article for accessing Paramount+ US content that unless I am mistaken, streams every Championship game this season. It may be a little tricky to set up initially but the steps in the article are really clear. This way, you don’t need to mess a out with different subscription providers and just stick with Paramount+.

Hope people find it helpful.

Live on the monthly pass. This is the bit i'm not 100% on to be fair. Because the whole point of towntv was always live games for overseas types on a subscription model, i'm assuming they wouldn't take that away from us.

I'm also assuming there are no £10 match passes for games live on beinsport. Not that it would matter because beinsport for a month is already cheaper than a single match pass.

The £5.99 Subscription does not include live matches, only replays. You have to buy a Match Pass for an additional £10 to watch the games live on Town TV.

I'm relying on this to clarify things and reassure us that us international subscribers aren't going from paying about $200 for an annual pass to about $900 for 46 match passes:

Anyone have tips on watching Town TV replays spoiler free?

In Aussie... BeIn (and last year Optus) have options to not spoil results/scores. However, navigating TownTV, right next to the replay stream is usually another video with a caption such as "Kieran on Auxerre win"

Ah thanks. Hadn't seen that. I was looking at this and pinning my hopes on it being a blatantly unfinished page.

https://www.itfc.co.uk/videos/subscriptions/

I'll just do 5.99 a month and beinsport for a couple of months at either end of the season when i really want to watch live.

Shame - it's been good while it lasted.
