Who we got lined up if broady and omari go? 19:53 - Aug 6 with 4109 viewshunty21

Probs only replace 1 of the 2 but with wealth of money I expect Doak, Fellows be top of list, Harry Howell, Carvalho .

They’ve already indicated that they intend to sell this Window. They rejected £15/16M last window (although I don’t think pushing higher than that would be an issue for us), BUT West Ham, Wolves, Palace, Forest, Everton, Bournemouth, Brentford and PSV have all been reported as making overtures. Palace did have a bid turned down in January.

With so much higher tier interest, I just don’t see us being at the races.

Ah didn't realise they wanted to sell when he is such a talent, guess PSR to consider given what already spent and then Isak or Baracola to come.

Yes given that list we'd be very unlikely to get him. Palace fans seem a bit pissed off that they have a great manager and ended season well and with Europe the board aren't backing the manager with new signings.

If we replaced Omari with Ray Sakyi I would cry.

Backed him to have a big season with the blades last year and he was so underwhelming. Can't see him ever being a premier league calibre footballer.

Doak on the other hand....

I look at every transfer window from the angle that we go back for players we’ve previously missed out on, and he seems the obvious one, as does Doak.

I’m at the point where I’m not to bothered about who we sign each window now, I’m more interested as to who we miss out on as we’ll more than likely be back in for them the next window - so welcome Hayden Hackney for January (although I still think we get him this window).

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

It wouldn't shock me.

Not to say our pull is irresistible but I was shocked he turned down what would have been, by all accounts, a massive increase in wages, with no sign of an improved contract coming at Boro. One could only assume there was murmurs that a Prem bid was coming, Everton maybe, Porto ?

If that doesn't come id be amazed if offer isn't still on the table.

Poll: Will Paul Lambert be Ipswich Town manager on the final day of this season ?

What we have seen over the past couple of seasons is that young players at PL clubs who aren’t probably going to be a regular starter in the first X1 at the likes of Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool etc are getting more and more expensive. You are looking at paying over £20 million for a young player who has probably made one or two appearances in the cup competitions or maybe a rare appearance on the bench or coming on in a PL game which is probably already won!

Delap and Hutchinson are prime examples, very little if none first team appearances at PL level and all of a sudden they are worth £15-20 million and the selling club wants a % sell on clause.

You get more value buying from abroad but the risk is probably greater as the player and his family has to settle in the UK. Rumours are Nottm Forest were quoted 28 million euros to sign Doak.

We'll try and sign him in pounds though, so it'll be a smaller figure.
