1, Brum are not as good as they think they are.. despite all the bluster about atmosphere and battling and closing down etc , they created very little.
2 , Neither are we as good as we think we are(YET!)
3, We are still trying to rejuvenate that bonding and team spirit of 2/3 years ago but that would have been helped massively by the team greating in front of us at the end last night.. I think a few were quite shocked at the reception and Keiran was front and centre again taking it all in..
4, There were some examples of terrific quick routines all too sparse but when we got it going it was too much for Brum.. when we nail that consistently and add the final ball we will reap huge benefits.

I would argue that Brum are as good as people think but focused more on stopping us playing than trying to outplay us. They were fearful of going toe to toe from an footballing sense, tried to outmuscle, trip, leave the boot in on several occasions to nullify and squeeze a 1-0 win.
Hence the poor game.

I think Brum will be scrapping it out with a few others for one of the final play off places. I don't see them having a run at automatics. I know he scored, but I'm staggered they spent £15m plus on Stansfield. He runs around but he's not got much quality. Think they overpaid by about £10m. Their midfield two looked decent and they've got some pace and physicality in wide areas but they didn't create an awful lot and I think there's not much to set them apart from that clump of teams that could finish anywhere between 5th and 17th. |  |

I agree with these posts. Birmingham showed a lot of hustle and bustle but created very little. Their goal was a combination of poor defending and luck that the ball fell to Stansfield after hitting the woodwork. A good point well earned with phases of neat passing and movement by us. Confident we will improve when the new players bed in. | | | |
