I agree with you, but also get why Muric isn't fancied.
He seems uninterested, doesn't seem to engage with the team or communicate well. There's erratic stuff he does, but still think he's the best.

yes, he can be the best keeper (which i believe he is), but not the best keeper for this team right now.

Can't agree with that at all. You can't ignore the massive howlers that he makes with alarming regularity. If you just focus on his ability on crosses then sure, he's better than the others in that department. Shot stopping he's hit and miss, likely to make a worldy then let one in that goes straight down the middle of his goal. With his feet he tries to play like Ederson when he's closer to Nick Pope. He might be better than Palmer with his feet but he's not great with them by any stretch. I just don't see it, I think the passing of time and Palmer being a bit meh has led to a lot of revisionism when it comes to Muric. He was largely a car crash last season. |

Genuine question Herbz, what is it you rate about palmer?
I just don't see it personally, mistakes in most games, and shot save % appears faily low through his career, despite the golden glove award he only got a 68% (54th percentile) on footy stats in that season.
For me hes a solid pro alongside walton, but I just don't see a quality keeper there. [Post edited 12 Aug 18:11]

I don't particularly rate Palmer. He's a solid, unspectacular keeper at this level and I don't think he's Prem quality. But he's better than Muric because he doesn't do something every few games that is essentially the equivalent of throwing the ball straight into his own goal. | |
