Well done to the Mackems! 17:03 - Aug 16 with 732 viewstonybied

It's hard to fight of a pang of jealousy, but it'll be great for the PL and future promoted teams if they can make a fist of it.

I see Burnley have carried on where they left off when they were last on this stage!

In other news, it's good to see the Foxes lost today, and a quick poke around their forum at HT showed they were thinking a another relegation season could be on the cards. I haven't looked again after FT, but I suspect the mood is no better.

And this is what you'll see from them, what we missed. Strong home form and a raucous crowd shouting them home. The one thing we missed, though fans were generally good. I think they'll do same us as but with 9 extra points from home games.

It's comparing apples with oranges right now though.

I maintain that, had we had a West Ham or suchlike on opening day last season, we'd have got a win too. Similarly, had Sunderland played Liverpool today, their atmosphere probably wouldn't have been enough to secure the win.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Why couldn't we have had an easier start last season? We got the best team in the Prem for our opening match. If it had been a West Ham or wolves who knows what might have happened. Pleased for Sunderland though.

Poll: would you rather

The main apples to oranges is our starting PL midfield compared to theirs today.

Why a pang of jealousy? So what they won a game, i believe theyve won games in that league before, unless youre a Sunderland supporter why do we care what happens to them ?

Focus your energy on the Town

Decent start, nowhere near enough quality come the end of the season though.
If they get 17 more points I’ll be surprised.

There's posters sh*ting the bed all over the place on here this afternoon and you've chosen to go after me for stating I have a pang of jealousy! Look at my comment on the Thread I posted earlier about watching the Sunderland game. I said we need to put last season behind us and stop peddling negativity.

I agree we need to focus on ourselves, that doesn't mean us fans can't watch how the promoted teams are doing and have feelings about it. As long as we're not turning it into a tool to beat ourselves with what's the problem?

Easier start? It doesn’t matter who you play though. When all is said and done every team has a full season to get the points needed. Our final few matches were against arguably easier teams, that also didn’t go to plan.

By then, our confidence had been shot to pieces though.
