What we really need and no idea who that can be for cm 16:30 - Aug 17 with 2418 viewsFrimleyBlue

A proper ball spraying around cm

It's not cajuste. He's for me a rotator with azor,

But its a cm who can really play in our attacking threats. We've got the work rate of Sammy s. Hirst. Philogene etc but they need proper service which we know isn't taylor and I don't think that's cajustes game either.

No more battle hardy cms needed imo it's got to be a real play maker of a cm.

That’s not a Hackney type. I’m not sure what the answer is really. We need something. Someone who has that spark in midfield. None of the options at the moment has that in our team.

I think that's the glaring missing element to our game really. Someone who can thread a ball through the smallest gaps to our forwards out of nowhere.

If they could be a set piece taker that would be nice.

There has to be a modern day Jim Magilton somewhere, and a Marty Holland for that matter

more of a Harmer type. He is a pretty good passer and play-maker.

You have just perfectly described Marcel Ruiz.

Can we give him another ring.

Someone of the mold of Ayari at Brighton would be perfect, but I understand he is neither interested nor in our price range.

I have been crying out for Hamer all summer. Not a ball winning midfielder, but someone who links both departments. I would be offering Sheff Utd £25M for him in the morning.

ball-spraying wise, the only player currently at the club who does this well, and certainly at speed, is Chaplin IMO. Have we ever wondered about him in a CM role, with Jens/Azor in the holding role? If nothing else, it means we can play both Chappers and Sammie, both of whom showed their strengths today (which are distinct; hence why I'm not sure why they would be vying for the same position at no. 10). Still, maybe chappers hasn't got the other qualities you might want at CM dunno?

If you want a playmaker to play alongside the ball winner I believe he is already at the club and has made a couple of substitute appearances so far as well as playing in the cup match.

Matusiwa made a lovely pass out to Davis in the second half, switching the play from right to left. If I remember rightly, his YouTube highlights reel included a few like that. Understandable that he's not trying that too much just yet as he gets used to things. I thought he showed promise yesterday in the second half.

He’s not a bad player and obviously still young. But if we finish the window with him anything more than 5th choice then we’ve simply failed with our recruitment.
