Fück off back to budgieland

Wake up and smell the coffee mate, this transfer is undefendable. Hoping it is just a blip and there will be some quality coming in in the next few days.

Flipping heck this is an abomination of a signing, he'd be overpriced at 2 million. What the fudge are Town playing at.

He's utter tosh, I'm a Leicester fan and talking from experience here. Lots of people trying to pretend it's good news because of not wanting to admit what a disaster this is. He will be roundly hated by Town fans within 4-5 games of watching him.

Utterly bizarre and signs that the club is getting desperate or just making terrible choices.

Here's hoping he unlocks potential that you didn't spot with your own eyes! Reality is we're discussing a done deal now, so the only sensible play for fans is to fill him with confidence. And as one of the most expensive signings ever by a Championship club, we must have scrutinised his performances a good deal before pulling the trigger.

But given that McAteer has been more involved for Leicester over the last 12 months than Broadhead has for us, that he only had a year left on his contract, and that he is four years older, do the fees feel that out of whack? I get we all want to feel like every deal is a good deal for the club but it does seem prices are inflated right now and we either don't pay and don't make additions or we pay prices that are inflated and benefit from receiving similarly inflated fees.

I think both are inflated. Broadhead, in my opinion, is a better player and will ultimately be a better signing for Wrexham as he elevates them.

I'm hopeful McAteer proves a good signing that improves us but I have to say I'm not convinced. Should be a solid enough squad addition but he has a lot to improve to justify the tag. I'm trying to push myself to be a bit more positive.

Time will tell. Let's get behind him now.

By what measure are the fees inflated?

Chelsea want £61m for Nkunku and will probably get it - but he looked utter pony to me. I don’t get this piling in and then quoting Transfrer Market. I can only assume it’s part of the big build up for the assault on Ashton, McKenna, recruitment people, owners. Part of the joy of criticising, tearing up and hating.

I’m glad the people in the ground are not itching to pile in as some are on social media. Personally I’ve no idea what true value of players is so I’ll give the bloke a chance.

With regard to your last sentence there’s more chance of Nelson getting his eye back than some getting behind him. At least Clarke and Philogene will be relieved.

I think it's the market this summer, fees seem to have taken an upwards bump again. I think comparing Broadhead and McAteer is tricky, we've obviously seen Broadhead have a good year and a half here playing pretty regularly whereas McAteer has been more in and out at Leicester. At 23 though Broadhead had mainly played his football on loan in League 1 rather than in the top two tiers as McAteer has done. As you say, get behind him, McKenna is excellent at improving players and unlocking their potential, this could turn out to be a decent signing.
