Meh. I don’t watch the men, so no. I don’t understand enough about the game to make it an enjoyable watch, but I hope it’s a good game for those who do watch it. Whatever makes a good game of it!
Good to hear it’s well promoted. Hopefully one day all women’s sport will be viewed on an equal footing or at least get the coverage/respect it does in a very few sports already (tennis probably being the best example). |  |

Only 4 of the countries have full time professional players, which clearly makes a huge difference, especially in a sport like women's rugby where few countries have meaningful player bases so this tournament will be a host of mis-matches until the latter k/o stages. This makes the games far duller to watch than football, where an inferior team can often keep a clean sheet for a long period & hope to nick a goal on the break. In a territorial game like rugby, the weak get steamrollered & concede points from penalty kicks, even if they can stave off a try to upsets are rare. | |
