Ashton and the recruitment team yet ??
What an appalling transfer window this has been
The club have known about Delap leaving for months, yet here we are relying on an over rated Hirst and Ali 😂😂😂

So you’re classing the departures and arrivals as being in the same bracket?

What are you talking about?

Yet you’re calling it an appalling transfer window, it’s a good one

And we got £37.5m for Omari.

If we can get a good striker and centre mid next week it’ll have been a really strong window.

A point of what you’re drinking please

You seem to have overlooked that we now have a chairman rather than a used car salesman (as Brent as Ashton may be), a recruitment team, a budget, transfer interest and a record of bringing through young talent and improving players.

We used to just have Ian Milne and poor Lee O'Neill.

Get a grip.

eh? Where have we replaced with inferior talent?

Who have we bought in of equal class to Hutchinson or Delap? We started the season with AAH coming off the bench

You said "What sort of ambitious plan involves selling/releasing your best players and replacing them with inferior talent and loanees?"

I replied;
"eh? Where have we replaced with inferior talent?"

Now you're posting gibberish, presumably as a diversion tactic because you can't answer.

But Blueas, taking your point literally it seems you are suggesting we should be signing a striker for £30m and a midfielder for £35m as direct replacements?
Come on mate. You can't possible mean that.

We haven't replaced either of them. 66notout was suggesting we've replaced players with inferior talent.

You say you don't troll anymore, so if that's the case then I must assume you're being geninue in thinking we could actually bring in equal class to Hutchinson and/or Delap. In which case you're an idiot.

Of course everything isn’t perfect now. Here’s the possibilities.

1/ it might become perfect
2/ it might get better
3/ it might stay the same
4/ it might get worse

If you want to go early and predetermine it’s going to be sht fill your boots but the the alternative opinion is that doing so now is tedious and pointless. That’s just where I stand and you’re entitled to your opinions, I just think they are silly.

Top entitled comment there.

Which £35m and £40m players do you think will join Town as Delap and Hutchinson's replacement?

Maybe we should go after Isak, after all doesn't he know we won the FA Cup in 78

What couldn't we do differently ?? I could write a whole chapter on that, as could any supporter who has been around long enough to remember beyond McKenna and his tactics.
For an instance, how about doing away with the 3 players behind Hirst? Why are they there ? Put 3 or 4 in midfield , stop having to operate on transition, dominate possession, protect the back 4 , play 2 forwards so Hirst has actually got someone to pass a long ball to, and we have actually got cover when the wing backs go forward.

Fair enough though I think proposing going 442 (which apologies if you aren't) feels a little limited. Who plays where?
I don't necessarily agree that we play wing backs either. You might argue Davis plays in a role similar, but Johnson doesn't. As KM has explained, the formation is fluid depending on whether we are attacking or defending.

We kind of do play 4-4-2 anyway. Szmodics plays as a second striker more than a 10. One of the tactical tweaks that it’s either bedding in or not working depending on your point of view.

I suppose it would be a 442 of a kind. The 4 in midfield would be one forward , one in front of back 4 and 2 in the middle.

A diamond formation would leave us very narrow.
Presumably Matusiwa at the bottom, but with SS playing alongside Hirst, who plays the 10 and left and right midfield?

in plain English those who have been purchased or loaned are not the equivalent of those who have been sold or released, and therefore the overall capability of the squad has been considerably weakened. If you don't want to cash in, as they have done on Delap and Huthinson, why not retain their services? Difficult, I know, but what is there to prevent the club spending the money they receive on replacements? And if that's not the way they want to go they cannot be surprised at how the new-look squad is having a negative effect on results and performances.
I can't make it clearer than that surely? Other people on here seem to have understood the message I was conveying
