Derby County = Anti-Football 17:21 - Aug 30 with 2661 viewsmathiemagic

My god, what a disgraceful team they are. If it was a thing, then an FA Panel should be docking points for that. Time-wasting and cheating is not football.

He doesn't get the ball, he gets the man. He wraps his leg around Hirst's trailing leg. Sure, Hirst exaggerated his fall to the ground (which was stupid) but it was still clearly a foul.

Unfortunately it was the exaggeration that the ref saw. It was a foul and a dive. Both things can be true.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

I appreciate the common thing is to back your team in this scenario and turn a blind eye, but he's dived. It's not a great tackle, he doesn't get the ball, but Hirst leaves his leg dangling. He even jumps, it's not well disguised.

I'm sure most won't agree, but you've got to take your blue tinted specs off.

He doesn't get the ball and gets the man, so how exactly is it a dive?

Hirst has played for it, no doubt, but Clarke was completely suckered in.

Completely conned the ref. Same in PL and now in the Championship. It's not right but best we get used to it as other teams will be just as bad. The ref's really should clamp down on it but they really are bad

We have to learn how to deal with it though.

That said, for Eustace to have the barefaced cheek to ask where all the injury time came from.

Very satisfying that they were ultimately undone by their own timewasting! 😂

Yeah Hirst does the defender, but just because you manage to deceive a defender and poke the ball past him, doesn't give you the right to fall over. Contact was minimal if there was any.

Your logic is about right, but arguably if you've been fouled you don't need to dive.

He took a bad touch, saw a leg come across him and decided he would take a tumble.

They were about 10 seconds away from being the worst team I’ve ever seen us lose to

Eustace said there was 12 minutes at their match with Stoke, as well as 13 today.

Maybe he needs to stop and ask himself why. If he can see it, that is.

Think it's one of those you can see either way, but if Hirst hadn't dived over with such an obvious unnatural movement of his legs (particularly the trailing one which he double kicks out) he might have got it. Strangely it was probably both a foul and a dive with simulation.

I agree, but there comes a time when we finally have to stop moaning about every single team we play…

Managers/coaches of far better teams will watch these games against Preston and Derby and spot that the bookies favourites for this league haven’t coped with those tactics at all.

They might also twig that..

We’re on the worst home run without a league win in our history and the place falls quiet very easily.

KM is clearly struggling to pick a starting (or finishing) 11 from the familiar faces, that is capable of carrying out whatever they spend the week trying to implement on the training pitch.
Imagine the chaos when he starts trying to integrate the latest batch of incomers.

One win in 23 league games and no clean sheets in 2025 doesn’t suggest the team will respond well to any sort of ball into their penalty box.

Even Bromley reserves and Wimbledon had no problem carving through them.

Add to that, the ownership has spent more money on transfers in the last 12 months than previously spent in in the entirety of the club’s existence.

Time will tell if KM can sort all this out.

I fear we’re all living through the end game now though and he’ll be gone well before before Xmas.

There can’t be many managers with a record, over the last 12 months, as bad as this, that have managed to turn things round or been the time to try.

Which one will breach parole first?…popcorn at the ready…(What’s App group, Aug ‘25)
