Cajuste, Matusiwa, Nunez 09:20 - Sep 1 with 905 views | BlueySwede | Opinion - which two will be McKenna's preferred centre midfield pairing? Or do you think it will shift depending on the opponent?

Cajuste, Matusiwa, Nunez on 09:35 - Sep 1 with 776 views | SomethingBlue | Matusiwa is nailed on, he's the midfield's defensive conscience, in fact I'd argue we still really need some specialist cover/competition for him. Then I guess the other two fight it out and/or share the minutes.

I presume you mean Matusiwa with one of those two, dependent upon fitness? Also dependent upon opponent, with the added option of playing Nunez in the deeper role against weaker opposition / if Matusiwa unavailable. Matusiwa is really starting to show his class already - one of the bright points in theses very early days.

Cajuste, Matusiwa, Nunez on 09:44 - Sep 1 with 639 views | dirtyboy | I've been having a lot of thoughts on this, McKenna, rightfully, likes to swap out the offensive players, they do a lot of running and that does reap rewards later in games as we know, so having the quality of Matusiwa, Cajuste and Nunez kept happy becomes difficult. Nunez has played in the 10 for Norwich, but is obviously more suited to sitting in front of the defence as a single or double pivot, which makes him quite flexible. Matusiwa has really started to get a handle on the pace of the Championship already, looking shaper each game (although did imo slip up at the weekend, but then so did Morsy a number of times). Cajuste looked a lot fitter and dribbling with the ball taking on players really suits him, but perhaps not for a full 90. Therefore do one of Cajuste or Nunez go to 10? Neither are fully recognised 10s though, but Cajuste really does look like he can do it and it gives us much more strength through the middle, but as we all say, is it a round peg in a square hole? I don't know. Not really sure where Egeli fits, loved seeing the wild card of Encisco in the 10, so perhaps that's what McKenna sees with him? Someone who's a threat and will get shots off? If so, perhaps we will rotate the double pivots depending on the game. It's it's more taking on a high press, then Nunez, if more expansive, then Cajuste. So, in summary. No idea lol!
Cajuste, Matusiwa, Nunez on 09:53 - Sep 1 with 562 views | JammyDodgerrr | It will be Cajuste/Matusiwa primarily, with Nunez being the sub/rotation. It will help to protect him too, as he's fairly fragile (as pointed out of course by the coping Norwich fans)

Cajuste, Matusiwa, Nunez on 09:53 - Sep 1 with 558 views | Wright1 | I don't know that preferred pairings always exist in modern football and this may be one of the cases. Unless Matusiwa plays almost every game he's fit as the squad is currently built - hopefully we bring in one more before the deadline. The other two will be horses for courses unless one performs significantly better than the other once the rubber hits the road.
Cajuste, Matusiwa, Nunez on 10:02 - Sep 1 with 489 views | ThatMuhrenCross | I'd honestly play all three. Matusiwa and Nunez in a deep role, Cajuste further forward. That may sound controversial, but there's so much quality there. Arguably the most quality we have in the whole squad. My formation would be: Palmer Young, O'Shea, Greaves, Davis Matusiwa, Nunez Cajuste Egeli, Akpom, Jaden

Cajuste, Matusiwa, Nunez on 10:06 - Sep 1 with 461 views | Bluemike31 | Can't see him playing Cajuste & Nunez together too often, I think Matusiwa is nailed on to start if available as offers different attributes.
Cajuste, Matusiwa, Nunez on 10:53 - Sep 1 with 301 views | Wickets | I think we could do with an extra quality midfielder , Downes or James might fit the bill but it would mean moving on Jack Taylor who has not done anything wrong and its getting too late this window i suppose . Maybe its something we might look at next window .

I thought similar to this on Saturday - I'd like to see Cajuste as a no. 8 - just in front of the other 2. This will give us more of a 433 formation, but I think it will give us better control of matches and I think will get the best out of Cajuste.

It's a good looking team and a lovely thought, the issue is we don't ever deviate from the tried and not very trusted 4-2-3-1
