My God this is a gamble 😬 23:23 - Sep 1 with 1013 views | ThatMuhrenCross | On paper, we have one hell of a squad, but we’re a long way from looking like a cohesive team unit. With the core of our back to back side now completely gone, McKenna has one hell of a job on his hands to get this team to click. I’m nervous.

My God this is a gamble 😬 on 00:21 - Sep 2 with 787 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | You probably should be but it’s a lot more interesting than what happened for over 10 years pre Covid if nothing else. The short term is crucial as well, 4-5 games and finishing with Norwich. Everyone will be feeling much better or it could be quite toxic if it goes wrong. I’m not sure today’s moves really change any outlook though, just all seems to be hitting home for some. [Post edited 2 Sep 0:23]

My God this is a gamble 😬 on 01:19 - Sep 2 with 697 views | charlie1 | If McKenna is as heavily involved in all this summers transfer decisions as he should be, he's being incredibly brave. He's basically backing himself to achieve, with the squad he has now, at least the same as he did with his 'first' squad. Otherwise what's the point in ripping it apart? Its Ferguson-esque in it's clinicalness, and if he can pull it off then he'll be right up there with the very best to have sat in that chair.

He inherited a lot of his first squad and made it work. Am pretty sure he knows what he's doing and will come good

I agree. I'm just not sure how many on here have the same measured view. McKenna swings from being the Messiah to the Anti-Christ about 20 times a game depending on the latest excellent pass or piece of poor positioning.

Our fans have more of a history of being patient when results don't go our way than becoming "toxic". I hope and expect we'll afford Kieran the same patience and support as we have done in the past as he's already proven himself to be a very impressive coach and I think we'd be bonkers to force him out with any toxicity. If there's one person currently at the club that looks placed to achieve greater things, it's Kieran McKenna. So, I'd rather we did our best for as long as possible to keep him at Ipswich for as long as possible. EDIT: I should acknowledge that you Joey-Joe are not calling for KMcK's head, nor are you trying to bring on toxicity at the club while the results are not coming in. [Post edited 2 Sep 2:42]

My God this is a gamble 😬 on 05:23 - Sep 2 with 494 views | BeachBlue | With respect, I don't think we should consider ourselves as negative or afraid of change. I think a lot of us are sad that the established favourites have moved on and an era has ended. I know I am. ... and that's perfectly okay, we just need some time to adjust.
My God this is a gamble 😬 on 06:08 - Sep 2 with 409 views | RIPbobby | We have essentially just reduced the age of the squad a lot these past 2 months. There is a lot of potential for us. We just need to find a new way to play as teams are just going to use matches against us as one-off confidence boosters. None will try and beat us.

Exactly my thoughts. He's pretty much dismantled a ream that were 'promotion favourites' and putvtogether a whole new one in one window. From a footballing aspect that's incredibly brave - or vert stupid. At the same time he's pushed many fans trust to the very, very limit, and on the back of a very, very poor prem season has in both cases legt himself very vulnerzble because I think hes just about used up all his credit in the bank. The next 2 months are going to be very, very interesting. I really really hope he proves himself to be right - I'm sure he and Ashton do too!!

A point I have made many times. He has achieved great things, albeit with the backing he received in League 1, anything but promotion would have been a failure. I remain jury out, last season worried me from a managerial point of view. Forget results, more a failure to adapt, a Plan B. I never understand the look where we have come from attitude, having such low ambition isn't how successful clubs or businesses work. The board have invested heavily, tough decisions ahead if KMK can't turn things around quickly. It's squeaky bum time for us fans.
