Everton paid £20m+ for Godfrey (plus £5m of add-ons) & he'd won a couple of England caps. Apparently he did quite well in his first season at Everton. You do wonder how a player who should be coming to the peak of his career can go downhill so much.

He was bad. Although Philogene would receive the ball, Leif would then go bombing forward and no SU player tracked Leif, which always left Godfrey with 2 players.

But still.. when Philogene went left Godfrey went the opposite direction, so he didn't help himself.

Got a rating of 3.2/10 on FotMob. Don’t think I’ve ever seen such a bad score for someone who didn’t get sent off or score a pair of own goals…

He gives attackers so much space and then backs off. Never tackles. Same vs Spurs and Man City last year.
