the reality is it wouldnt though, because there are enough idiots supporting both teams thesedays, who'd likely get very over excited about the game and then do something very stupid,that the police then have to deal with.
whereas when we play the game at the stupid time, the police get to report very few incidents happen, which to them is a success, and everyone goes home happy.
and ultimately thats all that counts, as in the modern era of football, after Portsmouth our next home game at 3pm isnt until nearly the end of November against Wrexham

But that's the problem. The marches are so inextricably linked with their organiser, that 100,000 attendees is seen as 100,000 voices in support of the grifting c-unit.

The Easter Thurs evening game a few years ago. Very heavily policed, but trouble before and especially after the game. The area around the station was locked down for a long time, with fans not able to get their cars until the next day.

I guess it depends on what you mean by significant disorder. The 1v5 loss in 2011 wasn't that pretty beforehand. Police horse lines and squaring up and all that - it's not riotous behaviour, but it's the sort of thing that they want to avoid in planning kick off times.
But yes, I do agree with the point in general. I think frankly the TV companies just get what they want, unfortunately. Right now you can't watch a match at 3pm on a Saturday on TV because of the ban on showing them. Not sure all the people who take part are racists. Sure a few will be, but the vast majority are just fed up with people entering their country illegally.
