Yeah i think he can go anywhere but of course there's the issue of squad registration so he wouldn't be able to play league games but maybe cup games he could and then of course league from 1st jan. | |

Would be a heck of a restraint of trade and employment if you weren't free to join a club if you are uncontract That's if you can find a club who wants you and can accommodate you in their squad. |  | | |

Or if he was actually released (in terms of contract registration with the EFL), before the window closed but only announced now. Which would be rather odd.
Looking at news reports, there is some suggestion he has been struggling with overall fitness (rather than a specific injury). |  |

Not all clubs will have registered the full 25 players, so could have an in somewhere on that basis. Could also move to the National League. His career seems to have rather lost its momentum. |  | | |

Financially he did very well out of his town contract. Someone told me what he was on, it was nuts. When he joined on a free in L1 I think there were other suitors so he negotiated a good deal, which got bumped up on both promotions, so that 3rd year that was our PL season last year was money like he'd never seen before or will again. I was told we paid him quite a handsome amount to settle that final deal.

I saw on social media that a player who was at a Nonleague side I watch for a season or two had recently lost his young wife to cancer, and had started a fundraiser to pay for her funeral.
Freddie had given a reasonably significant sum to it. I assume the two players knew each other.

Yep, probably played as well as he has in his career in that promotion season - certainly the improvement to his all-round game was impressive - and the goals at the start of 23-24 helped get that season going. |  |

I don't begrudge Freddie a decent payday at what looks like the tail end of his pro career.
I forgot he played in our preseason game at home to Nice and had a good game from the bench so its a surprise to see him struggle subsequently at 3rd tier level. | | | |
