The sub intensity was very noticeable against Sheffield United and KMc specifically called it out post match.

Yes yes but why haven’t we won every game so far and why hasn’t he gelled all the players in the last 2 weeks?

McKenna out. Bring back Clegg.

Alex Ferguson when he had Cole, Yorke, Sheringham and Sjolskar in the late 1990a. Come on lads it's not a new invention that we created.

Not what I was suggesting no. Just odd that he got it from Rugby rather than it being a thing in football already

I can guarantee that Fergie never brought on 5 subs to inject more energy in the latter stages of a match, so technically it is a new invention.

Yours pedantically…

Not really, no. I know it's been around in Rugby for donkeys years, and I know that SAF did similar with his forwards a few years ago. But in his day they only had 2 subs, not the 4 or 5 like now, so it is a fairly recent thing that a manager has been able to change half the team. So in a way it is a fairly recent thing and personally I hadn't heard anyone in footie talk about 'starters and finishers' before.

I think Simon was was more good friend with great diplomacy and administrative skills.

I would assume you know he wasn’t ever a football person let alone manager, but you still haven’t grasped we have the FEWEST league wins in professional football in the last 12 months.

Let that sink in.

There are genuinely cults (the irony of that word) with a better grasp on reality than some people on here.

We are celebrating being the worst club in the whole of England if winning games is important, for well over a year!!

I wish you had some basic standards…, it’s like you think our club is tin pot.

How many home games have we won in the last 12 months…., it’s TWO.

And you celebrate like we are Real Madrid…, no wonder Mark Ashton saw you coming…, it’s pathetic.

We might need to be better than 2 wins a year to be successful….., we might need to be better to achieve more than a team that cost £10 million…., or even Micks teams that cost nothing.

Sake. Standards, they’re kinda important.

And the predominant view in the game is that a player is perceived to have had a bad game if they are subbed, or the manager made a bad decision if he subs of a player who’s been playing well. We’re used to it now, so it seems really surprising to me when people don’t recognise the reason for the subs.

We had it over this way at the weekend when Swansea subbed off their striker who had scored. The manager said they were managing his minutes yet everyone kicked off despite him trying to explain (MK communicates really well, so he can bring fans with him which is a big part of it). Even the ex-pros on the local phone in said the main striker should be playing every minute they can and that it was a managerial mistake. It’s as if they believe squads are only there in case of emergency.

I agree its quite new, but something that most teams with the luxury of strong squads have been implementing for a few years alongside KM.

I guess ever since the 5 subs rule came in like you say.

It's like no managers have ever made subs and they end up scoring.........!
