Was gonna let you get on with it. But you do make a lot of unsubstantiated claims as if they are fact - as if all universities are in turmoil and the email signature thing really is nonsense. My organisation has it and there was no such training. For someone so pedantic to the point of obsession about Doller's degree contents to causally lob in opinions as fact is hypocritical really. The idea that people are getting training in email footers is laughable, certainly in universities. People in universities are far too busy trying to somehow deliver a good standard of teaching and research whilst also going through constant rounds of restructuring, cost savings and redundancies. That’s thanks largely to the UK’s increasingly isolationist attitude, particularly the changes to immigration rules that have crippled overseas recruitment. Although limiting our overseas student intake is just the straw that’s broken the camel’s back. The falling real terms value of student fees and lifting the cap on intake numbers per course per institution has also hammered any unis that aren’t hugely in demand (so that means a lot of unis that sit outside the ‘elite’ Russell Group).
Universities are definitely in a crisis, but it’s got sod all to do with Stonewall. Nobody’s talking about Stonewall in my old institution nor any of the many others where I’ve still got contacts. The only thing on people’s minds is whether they’ll still have a job in 6 months. Something like 20,000 jobs have ben lost from the system in the last year or so. It’s just a matter of time before one goes bankrupt as many have used up most of their reserves.
(Free speech isn’t an issue in that world either - it’s never talked about other than when there’s some high profile case somewhere and you need to review policies. It’s certainly not a day to day topic. Having worked in that area for about 20 years on top of all my degrees across multiple institutions, I don’t recognise the portrayal of unis that the right wing press churns out).

The stuff about pronouns in emails being about Stonewall training are the ramblings of a fantasist that can't see how they've been sucked into the culture wars in a quite nefarious way. What you're now saying is that you didn't say that Stonewall trained people in using their pronouns in their email footer but what you actually said was that people started using pronouns in their email footer because of training by Stonewall. Yep. They claim to be neutral, they claim that both left and right are the problem and we need more people like them in the centre. And yet, they only ever attack the left and on every hot topic - immigration, trans rights - they are not neutral, they have a view and that view generally aligns far more with the right than the left. Yet they still claim they are of the left because they vote Labour, although they abandoned Labour during the period that Labour actually had a left of centre manifesto. A lot of the lines and arguments they use are directly from the right of the culture wars that they claim to abhor yet engage in repeatedly, again always batting for the opposite side to the one they claim to be on. They argue dishonestly, they are disingenuous, and they engage in bad faith. And they are getting worse.

what i first posted was very clear. in my experience a few years ago when the practice started, using those email footers tended to come from organisations who had had stonewall training and accreditation. that was my direct experience.
what i then clarified, because you were wilfully misrepresenting me, was that the email stuff was one tiny outcome from much wide training and accreditation - of course there wasn't training just on email footers. indeed, after stonewall accreditation, the stuff on emails etc was usually just included in an organisation's online guidance. i clarified this only because you were being intentionally obtuse.
i know the practice has now spread more widely - it is no longer a few years ago and it is certainly no longer novel. equally it is now starting to die out along with the presence in institutions of stonewall.
