Blackburn put case to EFL 14:58 - Sep 21 with 16058 views | Parky | To either get given the win, or replay the 10 minutes. No surprise I guess, I’m sure we’d be doing the same if the shoe was on the other foot. Surely it won’t happen, but imagine making us go back up there to play 10 minutes, wonder how many fans would go.

Blackburn put case to EFL on 15:57 - Sep 22 by franz_tyson | I was responding to a one-sided post whereby our tactics and the whole flow of the game was dictated by the abhorrent weather and a referee ( the scoundrel) who made stuff up to beguile us. Apparently, we couldn't play like we did against Sheff Utd because of the conditions. And a red card and penalty was outside our control. Yes, I do think we've gone overboard a bit on the vuctimhood. And we're likely to be the beneficiaries, not the victims. I'm pretty sure if we were 1-0 up with 10 minutes to go ( and a man up - that you conveniently didn't mention) and the game was abandoned - we'd be a bit p1ssed off. |
we would, but we'd blame ashton for not getting off his backside to sort the long-standing drainage issue

Blackburn put case to EFL on 16:05 - Sep 22 by patrickswell | Because nobody in the history of football has ever recovered a draw or win from 1-0 down or with 10 men, have they? |
Is that the EFL criteria? But if it was based on percentages it'd probably be 80% that we'd lose that. To win from there .... 1%or 2%? Look... there's no fair decision and the likelihood is the game will be replayed - 11 v 11 for 90 mins. In which case, we're lucky bùggers and shouldn't be trying to play the victims. We go from 1% or 2% to win from 79 mins to a full replayed game with a full team where I'd say we'd have a pretty decent chance of winning.

Why can't we be victims? we scored the most goals in the league from 75 minutes in the last championship season, we scored 1 goal after the 75th minute last week Up until the abandonment, we were getting at the blackburn goal fairly easily actually and it appeared only a matter of time before we scored. A replay is rightful as a game is for 90 odd minutes, plus KM's football is actually more primed towards the last 15 minutes of games than the 75 minutes before it.

Is that right, Frimmers. Time to do more work. How many goals did we score after 75 minutes with 10 men over the last 2 years? How many players from the 23/24 Championship side played on Saturday? I make it 2 - Davis and Hirst. Why are making a comparison? Totally different team... and a man disadvantage is an irrelevance? 1 goal scored last week after 75 mins.... yet 4 scored before. Yet, we're primed for the last 15 mins. More b0llocks written. Honestly, the longer this goes on we'll be requesting the 3 points and a positive 5 goal difference.

what's the precedent for awarding all 3 points to the club who caused the abandonment? if you allow it, you'll get a spate of dodgy floodlights. it may seem unfair to blackburn fans, and it would to us in the same boat (no pun intended), but those are the rules

The comparison is used because it shows why you can't just gift a result from 75 minutes of football. Use the 2nd best team if you like rather than town, it doesn't really matter really winning on 75 minutes is not a garentee that you will win come fulltime, it gives you a better chance but it's not a given hence you can't just reward someone a win. It's pretty much that simple. oh btw, last week game - bad example from me, but you get my point, most of our games as KM points out is about the finishers

Nobody mentioned that Sunderland with a man down got a late(ish) equaliser against Villa and still managed 8 shots to their 9? I don't think we looked like we'd score tbh. I think we need to sit tight and if we get a replay, could be a bit of luck it feels like we've been without for a while. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Never said we should gift the game, but that we shouldn't act the victim. We're bound to get the replay, but only because there's no real other solution. I'll take it and feel a bit fortunate. And I'm pretty sure however good a team is at finishing games, they don't aim to be 1 down, a man down at 79 mins. The bookies will change their winning odds to confirm that. Bet none of our fans backed us to win that at 79 mins however good the finishers are.
