Karoline Leavitt 21:16 - Sep 24 with 2436 views | LeoMuff | Seems to be suggesting there is an ongoing secret service “investigation “ into who stopped the UN escalator and tried to trip up Trump, and that there should be accountability. Wtf are these people on ?

It’s quite a coincidence that there have been a couple of technology failures around him. They’ll all hate him, so the temptation to flick the off switch must be high, especially given his whole act is built on public a perception that he normally tightly controls. But of course it could also be a genuine coincidence (not that they’ll entertain the idea). You’d think if they had it in for him they’d go full on though. Maybe have an escalator that turns into a ramp and dumps him into a shark tank (too much watching James Bond as a kid?)

But then we get Vance. I know it's a bold claim but Trump is better than Vance. And yes, it's like deciding on a punch in the face or a kick in the balls but I think Trump is marginally better.

Vance is a disgusting person for sure, but I don’t think he has the charisma to carry off MAGA leadership. Not that he wouldn’t cause a huge amount of damage if he stepped up to be the President, but I can see his time in the spotlight being very short. But who knows. I’m probably judging them by our norms (people rapidly rejecting the Tories after they lost Johnson for example). Farage is the same. reform would be nowhere without him, as the only thing these regimes have is the charisma of the person at the top.

That is true but Reform haven't had power so they haven't made any changes. The hardcore MAGA crowd have territory to defend and Vance will be presented as the chosen heir. If they think Vance is the one who can beat the Democrats and stop them rowing back on all the 'progress' they probably will. Edit: Typo corrected [Post edited 25 Sep 9:19]

I'm sure these are much more important issues than.... well I'm sure all can fill in the blanks. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Thanks, you’re really not reassuring me! I hope it hinges on Trump, but when you put it like that who knows what the cornered beast of MAGA would do when they lose him, especially if they’re trying to retain power.

Trump’s own photographer admitted it was him who accidentally triggered the emergency stop. He was about 12 steps ahead filming him. And the teleprompter was under Trump’s team control, not the UN, at Trump’s team request. The fact Kash Patel launched an investigation is laughable

If it continues like this, there is every chance there simply won’t be an election in 2028. [Post edited 24 Sep 23:49]

The hardcore MAGA crowd isn't big enough to win an election though, they also need to keep some of the more sane Republicans on board and they are struggling to do that currently. I don't think Vance will appeal to them.

An investigation fits the narrative of "they are after Trump" not sure how they will get away with the fact a member his own PR team admits to it, but it is the headlines that get the full exposure treatment rather than what actually happened.

What scares me about Vance is that he is much smarter than Trump, and by the time he (likely) becomes President, the power in US politics would have shifted so far in favour of the executive that it will be very difficult for anyone to stop him acting as a dictator.
