Nunez to start?? 08:55 - Sep 26 with 1377 views | northstandwarky | Like to see Nunez start tomorrow now he's had time to understand the pattern of plays etc. Let's be honest we didn't play well against Blackburn so feel a spark is needed.
Nunez to start?? on 09:10 - Sep 26 with 1275 views | GlasgowBlue | If he’s going to start against Norwich then he has to start tomorrow. Nunez v Portsmouth, Cajuste v Bristol City then Nunez back in for the derby.

Think he will start tomorrow, but don't see him start against Nodge, it will only add fuel to their fire. Think he'll start the next two though, question is when Matusiwa gets a rest and who comes in for him.

Nunez to start?? on 09:17 - Sep 26 with 1228 views | _clive_baker_ | I hope so. Not sure Cajuste is really working, and if Pompey take a pragmatic approach to tomorrow then we need someone in there who can unpick a lock and gives a goal threat from distance. Not necessarily because he’ll bang one in from 30 yards (he might) but knowing he’s capable and will look for it means they’ll have to press him, hopefully creating a bit of space for others. We found it hard going against Preston & Derby and all a bit too predictable IMO.

Not sure that is a reason to not start him. He is a very good player and I think a better fit next to Azor then Jens. As mentioned above I would go Nunez tomorrow, Jens midweek, Nunez Norwich.

I have a feeling that Matu is the sort of player that doesn't need a rest.

That fee is because of his potential. He'll be eased in similar to Omari on loan.

I think, based on nothing at all, that Cajuste might be better at home. Once Nunez gets the system KM will choose the best player for each midfield battle. Really unsure whether I would play Nunez against Norwich. He'll be a marked man and a bit of a distraction. They could get in is head I'd imagine. Bring him on if we've a good lead.

agreed on the budgies game, bring him on when we're 3-0 up to rile them up further! as for who gives azor a rest, maybe morsy in january?!

I think in games against clearly inferior opposition were you are expected to have lots of the ball you could start Nunez and Jens and just drop Nunez deeper. Not ideal in terms of duel winning, tackling etc but I don't think it would be completely unworkable at times. I would love to see Jens take a big step on his OOP stuff. He is a great physical profile but just gets bypassed too easily at times. I know it is not his game but he should be better at it than he is, especially at championship level

Nunez to start?? on 12:27 - Sep 26 with 237 views | Everydayblue | Not going to judge us on Blackburn game. It was a farce of non football down to conditions. You could argue that we failed to adapt on the day. But we're a progressive passing side. And those were some adverse conditions out there.. Still think Nunez needs a bit of easing into the side. He came here carrying a slight injury. And we don't know how intense his training has been.. We had the luxury of blooding a few players against Sheff Utd, as the game was more or less won, when 2nd half subs were made. I like the look of Nunez. But hard to see him starting ahead of Cajuste, who is up to speed tactically having been with KM for over a year. Or ahead of Matusiwa, who is a linchpin destroyer, protecting the defence/midfield. Prefer the idea of Nunez off the bench, for now. As a game changer if we need it. Or a 20-30 minutes against tiring opposition ,to help him transition into a KM side. We weren't great last week. But Pompey stank the place out at home to SW, losing 2-0 to the divisions basket case. Can see us beating them farely comfortably, even if we aren;t 100%.. Our bench would probably all walk into their side. Given that Chaplin is now their star man, and doubt he'd get on our bench atm. Edit.... They have a good coach in Mousinho. So they might make it difficult for 45-60 minutes. But I think we just have too much for them over 90plus minutes, especially at home, on a nice slick pitch. [Post edited 26 Sep 12:32]
