Pound for pound, Town’s worst value signing? on 14:16 - Sep 30 with 241 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Won't the answer always be Leon Best? Free, but in terms of worst value, allegedly a replacement for Murphy. Wages alone make him a disaster.

Pound for pound, Town’s worst value signing? on 14:11 - Sep 30 by Kropotkin123 | As things stand... Le Pen - As others have said Muric - Surprised he isn't getting more of a mention, considering Ogbene is. Similar, except Muric's situation was more down to high profile mistakes, rather than injury. Ogbene - Still time to get off the list |
muric's the same as ogbene, a good loan season (and muric seems to have started very well) means at the very least a better selling fee

Pound for pound, Town’s worst value signing? on 13:22 - Sep 30 by Radlett_blue | Taricco was hopeless in his first year, but he only played one game because he was so bad. And he cost peanuts. Pablo was over-rated & like most of GB's disastrous signings that summer, nit what we needed. Donacien & Jackson Hurst overpaid for average Championship players at best. Not sure anyone was writing off Burgess. |
We certainly got our moneys worth from Donacien and Jackson. There was a reason why they were retained. Burgess? He was written off by more than one poster before a ball was kicked two years ago. Good player and a brave one. Counago made over 240 appearances and 60 goals for us. He might have made more, but for Bent and Shefki forming such a good partnership. Pablo was not the most consistent of players, but was exciting to watch and it was a privilege to to see him play. Free transfer too.

Until that happens, we can't judge fees coming back in. If it ends up that we get 4m after a decent loan, that's still 8m on half a disastrous premiership season, when he was meant to be our number one for a while.

The option is to buy Muric at 10M isn't it, and if he has a good full season, and helps them stay up, why wouldn't they?

exactly, we can't judge it yet and if ogbene or muric really kick on and get close to their purchase price, that'll mark them both down as reasonable value. neither come close to a le pen (for value) or a paul taylor (for character) for me

Leon Best came to Town after his short contract at Rotherham had expired. While whatever we were paying him was too much, I doubt it was a king's ransom.
