“I was at a club where regardless whether you took your opportunity or not there was politics behind it that you weren’t in the team for that reason or this reason”
Maybe backs up the claim of players starting because of the price tag?
Yes he is bitter. I heard from a close friend of Woolfenden that he fell out with McKenna over a YEAR ago. He didn't like being dropped, and thought he should be first choice. His friend told me hes been wanting to dis the club and McKenna ever since. Low and behold as soon as hes left the club ( absolutely queuing round the block to sign wonder boy werent they!) he does exactly that.
Hes nothing special, never has been and even his transfer fee reflects this. He's not to my knowledge even been a young international, so where on earth he gets his high and mighty opinion about himself from God only knows! He now warms Coventry's bench. He's a back up player for other first team players injuries, at whatever club hes at.
Three different Town managers at some point have eventually dropped him or simply never picked him. HE thinks he's something special, as do his little band of brothers on this forum. He's arrogant, and a League One level player. I wont even call him a CB, because hes not one. Hope he likes the "politics" at Coventry as he sits out his career on their bench, or perish the thought gets sold off to a second rate championship outfit like scum. He'd fit in there very well. He's an absolute tossa and c nut of the highest order.
lol what absolute nonsense.
Still, at least it gave Downes a break from your vendetta.
I look forward to Kieran being asked about this, and answering with the complete class and grace of the man he is.
Not someone who picks a team on politics.
Or leaks team news.
Woolfy the prime example of a guy who was pissing out of the tent, now trying to piss in.
Shock.
Presser by PhilTWTD15 Oct 12:07 Woolfy politics comments, I don't think there's any sense in justifying it. Great memories of that period and players, Luke being a massive part of it. Plenty I could respond to but would rather keep the good memories.
Perhaps one slight nuance to this debate which I haven’t quite seen expressed here yet is the ‘high ceiling’ factor. Large transfer fees often reflect not only current value, but a proportion of potential future value. The only way to realise that future potential value is to give game time to the player concerned. KMcK has often referred to this in interviews and would definitely have this in his thinking without it being classified as external pressure to pick said player. He’s looking out for the medium / long term future of the club surely?
Yeah, this.
From my extensive managerial career (Football Manager 2000 through to FM24), if I had two players with a three star rating, but one had five star potential and the other was at his peak, I'm picking the 5 star potential every time. It's logical. Maximum game time to help him get on his way.
