“I was at a club where regardless whether you took your opportunity or not there was politics behind it that you weren’t in the team for that reason or this reason”
Maybe backs up the claim of players starting because of the price tag?
I'm pretty disappointed by Woolfy being a bit public with his grievances here, aswith some of his social media posting, pretty unprofessional tbh.
McKenna clearly decided that Woolfy wasn't his first choice, as managers will often do, and fair enough that Woolfy wanted to move on, but this sort of stuff reflects pretty poorly on him.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

and possibly explains why we let him go; you want everyone pulling in the same direction

Yes, very unprofessional and disappointing.
Easy to speculate - this could also be evidence of the disruptive element that was rumoured, and needed removing from the dressing room.
Looking forward to this being dismissed as rubbish despite Kipre being MOTM Saturday and dropped on Tuesday
Yes it is rubbish
Ex player bad mouths ex club because we decided we wanted someone better.
It's sad that he's decided to go down that route but his attitude is clearly an insight into what he'd be like behind the scenes so not really a shock we'd want better qualities.
Can understand why he'll be annoyed tho He's just finding out he's gone from being cover to being signed as cover for Coventry.
Or backs up 'his view' that it was the price tag that was keeping him out rather than anything else.
Can't see McKenna sitting down with players and saying "sorry you're not starting because X cost more"
Maybe not McKenna but I suppose it's just possible that with Muric turning out to be a wasting asset, Ashton and the owners didn't want the same to happen to Greaves, if he were dropped long-term, particularly given their business model.

Why was Kipre not picked on Tuesday after waiting for his opportunity and taking it with both hands when he got a go?

can't see ashton picking the team, mckenna wouldn't stand for that

Maybe he couldn’t do two games in succession, maybe a knock, maybe Greaves is better for the team we were facing, maybe rotation for three games in a week, or maybe KM thinks he’s the better player.
because his very successful manager thought greaves was a better bet for the bristol city game. thought greaves played well
So as Woolfy said in the interview, he felt that his performances were irrelevant and he was always going to be second choice. He doesn’t feel like that at Coventry. Don’t understand the issue here

if he's saying that in public, he was probably even more whingey in private.
a rotten apple infects the barrel, maybe it's best that we let him go

Course he doesn't feel like that at Coventry yet he's not been picked yet so he doesn't know what happens when he is.
For all he knows he'll get a start at some point and then bet benched.

I agree his performances were irrelevant to McKenna after promotion. He did little wrong in the Premier League yet was dropped not once but twice because someone had to be the fall guy and it wasn't going to be the big spends.
However, I do wonder whether there was a divide at the club between the double promotion group and the new players, and that may be the politics he is alluding to - I think, excluding Humphreys who didn't really play a part, there are only four of the 22/23 squad left now (Walton, Davis, Burns and Hirst, and Hirst only joined in January).
I've always been a fan of his, and always will be in terms of him as a player, and I can understand why he'd hold a grievance privately, but do not think he's wise to say this in public.

Of course, I'm probably talking nonsense but all things being equal (and it could be argued that Burgess was the equal of Greaves) maybe the cost of a player and his likely resale value becomes a factor.
