I actually thought Norwich and Manning were winning the tactical… 14:45 - Oct 5 with 2351 views | unstableblue | And technical battle today for large swathes of the game. Their press was really upsetting OShea and Furlong. They were able to isolate Cajuste and Matusiwa. And they carried a bit of threat, especially at corners. But that press was unsustainable and as soon as they faded… Matusiwa then just dominated. And after the third… and with our subs… we went to another level [Post edited 5 Oct 15:29]

I actually thought Norwich and Manning were winning the tactical… on 15:57 - Oct 5 with 353 views | TheBoyBlue | I think the turning point was when we nearly conceded from being dispossessed in our own penalty area. The crowd let them know their thoughts, O'Shea & Kipre had a chat and we almost instantly stopped the playing out from the back and got the ball up their end as quick as possible where we were having our most success throughout the game. After that, it was pretty much all at their end, I just don't know why we didn't do it earlier. Great bit of tactical adjustment mid-game.

I actually thought Norwich and Manning were winning the tactical… on 14:59 - Oct 5 by seblue78 | Up until our 3rd thought they were outplaying us. Best team I’ve seen at PR this season, certainly. Just pretty toothless in the final third. They certainly pressed well and we looked out of ideas with their press. I think sacking Manning would be mistake personally but I suspect he’s a goner. We’ve still a lot of room for improvement but today’s not the day to focus on that 💪🏼🙌🏻 |
I don’t think Manning is a goner yet, but the combination of their dreadful home results and today’s loss is setting him up to be their version of what Paul Cook was like here. And Knapper is in a real bind now, especially given Nunez playing a part in the clinching goal. Still, that’s their problem.

I actually thought Norwich and Manning were winning the tactical… on 15:47 - Oct 5 by seblue78 | They were comfortably better than Portsmouth and Sheff U. I missed Southampton so can’t judge that. Tactically they were doing a bit of a job on us at times I thought. But they had very little upfront thankfully. In the end it was comfortable but from half time to our third I didn’t think it made particularly easy viewing. |
Can't agree with any of that to be honest.

O'shea got away with a couple in the first half, they knew we'd be persistent with trying to pass through them and we pretty much were, nothing wrong with mixing it up much more than we're doing though and going long, really would keep them guessing then, especially in a game like this...

Yes Palmer went longer on the next play after that crowd influence - amusingly the animated lower Churchmans (not always the case) seemed to have forced the players into action - then the Norwich players didn’t know what to do as we had more players in front of their press

Each to their own mate. Who cares really - main thing is we finally got the monkey off our back

Second half was better particularly when we started being a bit more direct and we were able to pick up second balls in far more advanced areas. Still a few gears to go I reckon, but for tonight I don’t care 😂😂

Fair play if that's your genuinely held opinion but I think you'll struggle to find anyone - even Norwich fans - who agrees with that. I thought they worked hard but were largely dross and on another day they might have lost by 3 or 4 rather than the 2 they got done by. |
I thought we messed up a fair few chances today. The Hirst miss in the second half was a shocker. Norwich looked a pretty poor team. Yes they pressed ok in the first half but didn’t do anything when they got the ball and where never going to sustain that for the whole match. There’s a lot more to come from this Town squad and we’re still winning games Norwich in for a relegation fight based on their efforts today.Without Sargent doing anything, who was pretty much in Kipres pocket the whole match they didn’t seem to have many idea apart from corners. It was a good win and good to shut up their fans who now have nothing to talk about now the 16 years has gone but would have been disappointing if we hadn’t won today.
