Apparently Norwich won 1-0 14:42 - Oct 6 with 2108 views | Keno | As you may recall I’ve a mate who is a Norwich fan. Thought I’d better check up on him today and he is fuming!! Reckons our 1st goal should have been disallowed for handball, Egeli fouled the defender by backing into him for the 2nd, which by the way was a lucky mis hit and the 3rd was clearly offside Sky fixed the match cos they wanted the Derby to be competitive again and for the ‘big team’ not win all the time He reckons Manning should go and Russell Martin will come back as their messiah, I took the opportunity to point out “he’s not the messiah he’s just a crap football manager”

Apparently Norwich won 1-0 on 14:46 - Oct 6 with 2022 views | cookra | i honestly think Manning is a good manager, his record shows he is a slow starter. Martin is welcome as a towen fan, he is dreadful , sticks to a theory and can not adjust to in game changes. I dont know why they can't be graceful in defeat, i work with a few Nodge fans and they keep saying how lucky we were to win the ball back for goals, shouldnt of been a corner for the first !!!

Apparently Norwich won 1-0 on 14:50 - Oct 6 with 1972 views | Eiffel78 | To be fair, the first may not have survived VAR scrutiny as it did (accidentally) hit a hand in the build-up. But that balances out with the one when we had it in the net earlier, but it was wrongly ruled out for a foul by Hirst, who was actually the player being fouled. So still 3-1.

Indeed. Not sure at any point over the last 16 years I've been anything other than accepting that they were quite a bit better than us and/or deserved to win. Even April 2024, to me the likes of Nunez and Sargent were the best individual players on the pitch, but we've obviously significantly improved since then! FWIW I thought they pressed fairly well, effectively taking Azor out of the game. They needed to score in that first 20mins to have any chance. It could have been 6.

Matt Holland called it with the first that wouldn't be given in the PL due to VAR as accidental handball doesn't come into in relation to the goalscorer. After the offside goals a couple of years back I'm hardly feeling much sympathy. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yes VAR would have ruled out our first as None other than Matt Holland was at pains to point out . But we are playing in the Championship and no VAR in the championship, thank god , football coped without it for hundreds of years and accidentally handling the ball was always play on .

Hold on, their defender looked like an Olympic diver for our goal, which was disallowed for a “push “by Hirst.

And their goal was a flukey deflection if we're going to stoop to their petty level. Actually, I just feel sorry for Norwich fans. For 16 years, there was a single straw to clutch in their hands to claim they are a better team. That straw blew away in the gusts of Portman Road on Sunday. No wonder they are clinging to inaccurate goal speculations. Bless.

Well actually for their goal it was Matusiwa who stooped so low and deflected it.

Yes, watching it live, with a good view, when it was ruled out, I first thought that it was ruled out because a whistle had maybe gone for a foul on Hirst. Watching it back, I see that he was being grabbled/hugged/cuddled, and reacted irritatedly by pushing his man. Which is fair enough in my view, but you're always gonna get penalised for it. So it's an irritating one, but I don't think we can be outraged.

well he hasnt got much to work with has he, fwiw I think he's a decent enough manager at this level, certainly got their tactics against us spot on to nullify our midfield for chunks of the game till we found a way through, when they could have just turned up and parked the bus and tried a Derby on us.

This is a great example of why VAR is nonsense. Not a single Norwich player claimed the handball yet VAR may well have ruled it out. You could blame the handball rule as well, but if i understand it correctly, the bar for handball changes for ruling out a goal with VAR as opposed to a free-kick in isolation. Think Szmodics was offside, but he didn't touch the ball or get in the 'keeper's way. Azor's arm was beyond the line, but that doesn't count (has to be a body part which can legally play the ball).
