Indeed. Not sure at any point over the last 16 years I've been anything other than accepting that they were quite a bit better than us and/or deserved to win. Even April 2024, to me the likes of Nunez and Sargent were the best individual players on the pitch, but we've obviously significantly improved since then!
FWIW I thought they pressed fairly well, effectively taking Azor out of the game. They needed to score in that first 20mins to have any chance. It could have been 6. |  | | |

Yes, watching it live, with a good view, when it was ruled out, I first thought that it was ruled out because a whistle had maybe gone for a foul on Hirst. Watching it back, I see that he was being grabbled/hugged/cuddled, and reacted irritatedly by pushing his man. Which is fair enough in my view, but you're always gonna get penalised for it. This is a great example of why VAR is nonsense. Not a single Norwich player claimed the handball yet VAR may well have ruled it out. You could blame the handball rule as well, but if i understand it correctly, the bar for handball changes for ruling out a goal with VAR as opposed to a free-kick in isolation. Think Szmodics was offside, but he didn't touch the ball or get in the 'keeper's way. Azor's arm was beyond the line, but that doesn't count (has to be a body part which can legally play the ball). |  |
