Probably too "happy clappy" for some - but he sums the situation up perfectly.

It is possible to be disappointed without behaving like a moron.

(Apologies if the link doesn't work - not sure how to do these)

How many people have “behaved like a moron”? I’m assuming you saw those unlike the game.

Hardly been frothy here, let alone particularly off kilter has it?

Afternoon Mr Condescending - Lovely to hear from you

How many more times, there's an element on here, and a ridiculous amount on Social Media.

If you think its all justified and perfectly normal, then kudos to you champ, I personally think its way over the top and so does the guy who writes for the EADT.

Clear it up for you ?

We’re probably like most clubs. 90% normal reasonable fans. 5% rabidly stupid reactionaries. 5% blindly optimistic who won’t hear a bad word about the club.

Social media can amplify the worst of the 5%ers.

It’s just football and opinions about football.

TBH though Waveney, if the EADT were anything like they used to be, those sort of articles wouldnt be coming out, they'd have started asking questions. They certianly did when Burley won as many games as KM has after relegation ( Not saying its comparable, different projects etc) just saying the eadt is a different animal since Ashton came in )

In defence of the poster, I know of someone involved in the coaching and they claim the squad is one of the most talented groups town have had in the past couple of decades.

talent only gets you so far in life, you need drive, ambition and determination also. Perhaps they need to measure the metrics for those at Playford Road.

I do love how you're always guilty of everything you level at everyone else and then some. But lashing out at everyone over a game you didn't see is a new high. Let alone constantly giving it the biggun as if you're the voice of reason, when you see red so much.

How is it condescending to ask you what you're on about? Or is it just you didn't get the round of upvotes you were craving?

Lets get one thing crystal clear, I don't crave upvotes, I would worry if certain poster's on here agreed with me, as I certainly don't agree with them.

I don't "lash" out, or see red. There's way more important things in life to "see red" about.

I just point out ridiculous hot takes and over-reaction as I see fit.

And as for condescending

Ha, I could cry myself to sleep over how people who don't remotely know me - perceive me on here.

I could, but funnily enough I don't.

I absolutely hate it when we lose.

Apart from the obvious feelings gained in defeat, it is the overreaction from some fans that follow these games that gets me.

Call me old fashioned, but I much preferred the pre social media days when defeats were far easier to get over.

‘Kieran McKenna needs to go'. 'He does not have a clue'. 'The players are not good enough'. 'Questions need to be asked.’ Just some of the comments I had the misfortune to stumble across over the weekend. I did not see anyone stating that questions needed to be asked after beating Norwich 3-1.

I did have some more reasoned comments from non-Ipswich fans coming my way too. ‘If Hirst scores the penalty and we do not concede a calamitous own goal, then we could have won that'. Fair point, but in truth, we fell somewhere in between.

I also read how we should be doing much better given our squad and the money that has been spent. There are some with short memories it would seem.

Cast your mind back just two years. We did not have the best squad on paper in the Championship. We also did not have one of the most expensively assembled squads. What we had back then that we do not have now is something that money cannot buy. For want of a better phrase, a well-oiled machine. You could say togetherness. But I am sure this squad is together. Camaraderie might be another descriptive term often bandied about. Again, I have no doubts that this squad have plenty of that.

But getting a team to function into a mass state that is bigger than the sum of its parts is incredibly difficult to perfect. If you go back to the first six months of McKenna’s tenure here, they were not fruitful. He joined us whilst we were sitting in 11th place in League One. We finished in 11th place. History will go on to show an incredible job he did in pushing us forward. All being well, he will do so again. But this brand-new team will need a degree of patience. As I said, we are somewhere in the middle right now. Winning home games but the opposite away is proof of that.

Without a doubt, there are improvements required in away games. On Friday night, we often looked laboured and were slow to get the ball moving forward. In the dying moments too, there was little urgency in getting the ball into the danger zone. That is a trait that does stem back to last season. Anyone remember the lack of wanting to get the ball into the box at the end of the game away at Manchester United when we were in the ascendency thanks to a numerical advantage?

We were also far too open at times against Middlesbrough. Alex Palmer certainly kept us in the game. Some Town fans cannot survive without a scapegoat. The latest casualty is George Hirst. He is going through a barren spell, and he did not miss his penalty on purpose. What George lacks right now is something that affects us away from home and that is a functioning unit behind him. I love Sammie Szmodics and will always be right behind him. Chuba Akpom has lacked purposeful minutes. Their role in the number 10 position has yet to ignite. I do wonder how the team as a whole and Hirst would benefit with a more familiar component in that position in Conor Chaplin. Does he merit a recall in January? But do we keep looking back?

On the plus side, we now have two home games to hopefully win to get a foothold into a position around the play-off places and a position to build upon.

It will be interesting to see who plays in the middle with one change for definite with Azor Matusiwa suspended. Is it time to have a look at Marcelino Nunez starting at Portman Road? Can we afford the luxury of a partnership with Jens Cajuste alongside Nunez. I just hope that the lack of a like-for-like replacement for Matusiwa does not bite us on the backside.

But let’s be positive and remember, we support the Ipswich if we’re up or down.

Post of the season ……we have toooooooo many bedwetters on this site , I know it’s about personal opinions but I do wonder how many of these silly points are from Town fans .
Constructive criticism is in short supply .

Far too open, laboured, lacking intensity, Palmer kept us in it, 10 role problematic to the point of potentially recalling Chappers.. not too happy clappy for me! 😂

Not that I don't love Sitters or anything, but it's the words of Karl Fuller who writes for the EADT - Sitters very kindly did the cut and paste job I was far too lazy to do !

It's all very rational and that isn't a bad thing.

But why is any criticism from a group of people of one player now considered making them a scapegoat?

As long as it's not going too far, and we all know where the line is, I don't think Hirst is being singled out anymore than anyone else. The following players have all received criticism or had questions asked of them after Friday night:
Hirst, Davis, Furlong, Cajuste, Walle Egeli, Szmodics, Akpom, Philogene.

The worrying thing for me is that there are so many debates and questions throughout the squad. I think that shows there aren't any scapegoats, just valid concerns.

People lash out after defeat a post is just a snapshot in time of how people are feeling.

I am probably guilty of lashing out, it doesn't make me any less a supporter.

Was I mad after 'boro of course but I will be there tomorrow and you'd struggle to find anyone more vocal than me in my block!
