I thought Azon did okay, but he was up against a back three, same as against Bristol, his other start. So it was always going to be hard for him. Lacks height to challenge in the air, which changes the tactics. Akpom had his best game for us did okay in the hole, though not a natural 10. But it was hardly stellar. Would have been a good game for a Chaplin type. Why we have gone from having several 10s to zero is a mystery. Hirst needs to come out of the firing line, he looked shot when he came on. But the options are not great. | | | |

We will only see if Azon has what it takes by giving him a run of games. It's unfair on him to expect him to fire on all cylinders when he starts so infrequently.
Hirst looks shot of confidence atm. In the last 2 seasons he buries that chance but it's not clicking for him.

I would do the same, both need to build up some momentum. Nothing is working for headless chicken Sammy and Hirst is like a rabbit in front of the headlights at the moment. If this was the 70s, both would be in the reserves for a week or two to build up confidence. But today's squad game does not allow that. | | | |
