That seemed to be what Mick Mills was advocating for last night. I'm not sure that doesn't compromise Clarke too much, just as he's seemingly getting going. For me, Kieran needs to work out who his key attacking players are and set us up to feed them - not keep messing them all about to try and make it fit. |  |

Yes Clarke in the 10. Szmodics and Akpom have underwhelmed there so far. Only a single goal involvement between them this season. Clarke has an eye for goal, and can create.
But Billy Jean has nailed down the inside left. We need to give Egeli some faith and time to improve on the right. There's a dearth of other options on that side, and he's shown glimmers of quality. |  | | |

It excited me that Clarke looked so comfortable on the right yesterday. Not sure we have any one that get past his man so easily as him when he's playing confidently.
I do agree that the wider issue is that we don't have a 10 that looks as comfortable in the system as a Chaplin, a Hutchinson, or a Broadhead. |  | | |

He was good in pre-season on the right. He’d be useless in the 10 as he rarely passes to anyone. That’s the last thing we need in that role imo.
Anyway, round pegs in round holes for me. It’s not going to help having players not playing in their natural positions. |  |

That's very harsh on Akpom on his third actual start for us. Last night I felt you could start to see that there was a player in there. Twice he maybe should have scored as well, but at least he was in the right position to attempt it. | |
