Too young to have seen him play but I used to get all my sportswear from his shop in the 80's.

Saw him play many times. Solid centre back but probably a little past his best when I started watching. Eventually replaced by Derek Jefferson who was younger and more athletic if a bit wreckless at times, hence his nickname.
RIP Mick.

R.I.P.

The best sport shop in Clacton in the 70's and 80's. Was in there every weekend. Got all my sports gear and spent all my pocket money on Subbuteo teams, stands, pitches etc.

As a schoolboy, I remember that he once played at left-back behind me during a Sunday Morning League game, although, I can remember absolutely nothing about the game itself.
