It's probably too early but eventually I would like to see Egeli in the 10. The end of the WBA match he was much more central and got into positions to have a couple of shots and the run centrally from our box to create a chance was excellent. Nunez seems the likely option for now. SB

Agreed, I imagine we'll manage him the same way we did with Omari and once he's more up to speed with the physicality and intensity of English football, he'll be pushed into that central role.

I still think we'd be wasting Nunez a bit by doing that. Yes, his energy and harrying would be an effective replacement for what Szmodics has been doing, but we then lose his operating deeper and distribution later in games. Perhaps Taylor might be a better option. Plus we don't know if Akpom will be available.

Agreed. Nunez will probably get no. 10 for now (assuming Chubs is injured), and he was effective against WBA for last 20. However, Egeli is improving, and I'd love to see: Philogene Egeli Clarke (I know playing Jack left and Jaden right hasn't always worked, but they're both in such form . . . Equally, once he's back and up to speed, Burnsy) Still, I imagine neither SS nor CA will be out for too long

Does anyone have any theories on why SS and Akpom have not been as effective as hoped this season? I must say it's baffling me. It also makes it hard to work out what kind of player /would/ have success in that role. I appreciate that Chappers had good success in the past, but we don't really have a player like him at the club any longer. By design. I think it's got to be Nunez. Am interested to see what he can make of it. But I think most of us are pretty confused as to what our best 11 is right now.
